Many of us are accustomed to working NFL Sundays around game time. However I understand that since many of us will be participating in the the #IHatetheNFL blackout today, they may find themselves with some extra time on their hands so I thought Id tender a few suggestions as to what might be done with this unexpected windfall. Here are a few things I came up with:
1. Launch a countdown clock to O.J.s release.
Update: Rats, they already let the most dubiously innocent man in America out. Alternate game day plan: develop an interactive computer game called Where In the World is O.J. Simpson Searching For the Real Killer. That would be a killer app.
2. Draft a disaster recovery plan for San Juan Mayor Carmen Yulín Cruz who apparently didnt know that it was part of her job description. And now shes so busy complaining about Trump not helping enough that she doesnt even have time to go to meetings let alone put a plan together. Dont worry if you have no experience at this type of thing, apparently Mayor Cruz doesnt either.
3. Begin (or finish) your Christmas shopping. Its never too early to start the next holiday season, and Amazon is open all day.
4. Can something. Im partial to pickled things so I would recommend pickled peaches:
dilly beans:
or my all time favorite, pickled plums.
of course it is almost Halloween, so feel free to do whatever sounds good to you.
Im sure you have other great ideas about how to spend a lovely autumn Sunday afternoon. How will you #NonNFL?

Loved your post! I’ll have to check out Sling Blue. This is the first I have heard of it. Would love to tell Dish to take a hike.
Mr. b is napping in front of the tv as usual but it’s not on a NFL game channel. Last weekend, he officially turned the kneelers off.
Take wife on date.
Last day of baseball. It is the Mariners; but, still better than NFL.
I have made a mental note of that myself. Can't wait to relieve our budget of the cable bill.
It looks pretty good. Hubby is checking it out now. 25.00 month and right now you can get a free roku stick and remote. Extra channel packages are just 5.00.
---------------
Sling is nice (I like PlayStation VUE a bit better), but you won't be telling DISH to "take a hike" since they own Sling TV.
Streaming TV Services:
If you use Amazon Fire TV you can get the free app for Discovery:
Amazon.com: Discovery GO: Appstore for Android
https://www.amazon.com/Discovery-Communications-GO/dp/B01M2WG1YZ
Product description. Watch full episodes and live TV from Discovery Channel anytime.
As the cord cutting continues to grow, watch the slimmed down providers and powerhouses like Amazon Fire TV add free apps or apps at low cost for the apps.
Ironically, Dish owns Sling TV.
Dish itself is losing more customers per quarter than the other providers.
It appears that they may be thinking about getting out of the satellite business.
OY! They don’t have Fox Business channel which is a dealbreaker for us. Thanks for the tip on Dish owning them.
Make more visits to local wineries. Just got back from picking up our bimonthly wine club selection, always a grand time.
Thank you sir.
My pleasure.
Think of D Day and how slow it was for our warriors to land, climb the cliffs and start taking out the Nazis and having the big win.
Cutting our cable is a personal matter for each family. Each cut cable and boycott of the National Felon League is a small victory.
The day when about 50% of Trump’s voters, have cut their cables and then we flush the NFL/ABCNNBCBS/ESPN/Disney pukes down the drain
The left wingers might realize what they are against. It will be too late for them.
By then it will be too late for them.
Spent my day doing yard work and cooking.
As of now, we're still in North Africa fighting Rommel.
