People are finding origami butterflies with ominous messages, scattered on the ground throughout Seattle. The folded papers have a puzzling warning about safety, but no one seems to know who is behind the campaign or what it’s about.
When unfolded, the message “you are not safe,” is revealed and there is a date: 9-28-17. The flip side has illustrations of Russell Wilson, Kurt Cobain, the Starbucks siren, and a message about peace.

I have a wreath made of these origami cranes. Each crane represents one million chanted Buddhist prayers.
Curt Cobain was a rock star - killed himself with a gun many (20???) years ago.
There is another butterfly with images of the former Mayor of Seattle (Ed Murry, liberal gay guy and child molestor), some local pastor, and another local guy. Who knows what it all means? But - I guess that is probably the entire point of this promotion - to get the locals talking about it.
New movie premiers on 9/28 - “Attack of the Killer Butterflies” along with the oldie “Attack of the Killer Tomatoes”.
Warning: You are no longer safe when you go out to your garden. Mother Nature is striking back and taking no prisoners. Worms have to eat, you know!
Perhaps Starbucks will launch a new butterfly flavored latte, as part of the "eat more bugs to save the planet" whacko movement.
I visited Seattle on business this week (one year from retirement—looking forward to no more business travel :-) ).
The street people are even wackier than I remembered. Highlights included one bedraggled-looking woman screaming at the top of her lungs during morning rush hour on 2nd St. in the middle of dozens of pedestrians. She had a carriage full of junk of some sort and her screams were incoherent.
Then there was the homeless guy who wandered into the hotel lobby and started yelling angrily at the desk clerk—something about a taxi—like this guy could afford a taxi. :-)
Seattle would be such a beautiful city if they could just send the homeless somewhere else—like San Francisco!

Well that’s just stupid! Why would you set up all sorts of benefits for homeless people (fancy public toilets, heroin injection zones, outreach programs to tent people, etc.) to attract the homeless - and then ship them off!?
Oh - and legal pot. I almost forgot!

In second grade I had no choices I learned the curriculum. Juggling and origami were considered after school enrichment.
Teachers can waste time better than any other profession.
Portland Maine, formerly a great small city is like this now and a destination for the Homeless and immigrants and illegal aliens because of the great benefits. Tragic loss of nice places

I told my wife our daughter needs a new schoolbag. She said not to get one because her father was getting it for her Birthday. I said OK but that’s not really a Birthday gift kind of thing.
Today we were talking and she said guess how much the schoolbag cost. I guessed 39 euros thinking she is going to tell me 29.
She said it cost almost 200 euros.
I said That’s a Birthday gift!
