Dear Liza,
Im a 32-year-old woman who would like to have kids and a life partner in the not-so-distant future. And lucky me! Ive recently started dating an excellent candidate. But I cant even pretend to think its possible (or desirable) to have sex with just one person for the rest of my life or even, frankly, for a few years.
Monogamy feels antithetical to the type of feminism and anticapitalism I subscribe to. I am repulsed by the idea of being a mans property. Also, monogamylike capitalismrequires us to believe in a false scarcity: that we have to struggle for every little bit and that everything we gain comes at someone elses expense. The kind of liberatory future Id like to see is one of abundance and generosity and sharing. One of the few places we can experiment with that now is in our love lives.

Heh, classic...:)
Oompa Loompa Doompity Doo:
I wouldn’t hit it and neither should you!
As Howard Stern would say...
...mmmm, the nuttier the sluttier...
He likes them half her age - or younger.
She may as well charge for it. I mean, what’s left to do?
And those sparks will be hers.
That’s the columnist, not the marxist slut letter-writer.
I was being a little facetious,, my bad..
It’s cool.
No blood no foul.
But forget the baby - they take more effort than a minimal emotional attachment, and if she's not willing to 'practice' on a man first, her chances of success with a baby is minimal to nil.
But she was married, and knew who the father was, and wasn't taking any chances with stray germs. For instance, if the mom has herpes or some other crud, she passes it to the infant through the birth canal. Unless she wants to have a caesarean.
Good luck to the marixst slut with having her open-relationship babydaddy to take care of her and the infant for a week post-op. And what if she has post-partum depression? Or what if he nips out for a side piece because she is post-delivery and nursing a loud, smelly infant who poops, spews and screams in the middle of the night? I don't even want to think about it.
A paternity test should be done for every baby born.
Female fertility plummets at 30.
Feminism doesn’t get it, but the ideal of a man and a woman belonging to each other is a good one, her belonging to him and him belonging to her.
Gentlemen prefer the road less traveled.
Say “hello” to genital warts and a cornucopia of other STD’s, skanky one.
“But she was married, and knew who the father was, and wasn’t taking any chances with stray germs.”
Good points.
And good points about the Marxist feminist petrie dish that wants kids.
Too many people fail to consider the consequences of their actions.
But it IS all about THEM after all.
I would pity any child born to that woman and whatever self absorbed sperm donor she latched onto.
An old girlfriend of mine was a nurse and loved working in the maternity ward.
She finally had to give it up because she couldn’t stand to see some of the newborns.
Babies born with DT’s because mom couldn’t quit drinking were bad enough.
Then came the drug addicted babies that were hooked on drugs while in mommy’s womb.
It was the HIV/AIDS babies that finally made her quit.
The last year she was on the job her husband said she hated going to work and cried herself to sleep at night.
Women like the one in the article should never be allowed to become pregnant.
Wow, what a story. So sad. I heard a similar kind of thing from a friend who had a family undertaker business in what had been an old white working-class neighborhood; but he said after a lot of immigrants started moving in, he was appalled by having to prepare the bodies of so many young teenagers who had gotten themselves into gangs.
” he was appalled by having to prepare the bodies of so many young teenagers who had gotten themselves into gangs.”
Different symptom of the same disease. Evil being called good.
Ugliness being called beauty.
Narcissistic “elites” more enamored of personal power and gain than the common good.
Society has always had fits and starts, advancing then sliding back a bit. The Roaring Twenties then the Great Depression, that sort of thing.
But this time seems different.
I’m not sure we have seen such a societal decline since the Western Roman Empire fell.
When Rome fell they said “the mother of the world is dead”.
With Islam taking over western Europe and the US sliding I’m not sure if society as we know it will survive.
What will be said when the US goes toes up as it someday will?
