Maybe if folks knew what the Anthem was actually about, it would hit attendance.
= = = = = = = = = = = = = =
I think some of it may be that the people already have their tickets and feel the money is already spent.
What they could do is just go watch the game and NOT BUY ANYTHING while on the premises.
The owners would feel that...IMMEDIATELY
Same as complaining to the sponsors...that is all probably prepaid.
Like the ‘good old saying’
MONEY TALKS, BULLSHIITE WALKS.
Hmmmmm The Boys economy the last 8 years , sounds good to me Its ZEROS fault.
Younger people rather play video games.
A key game at prime time was the Green Bay Packers vs Atlanta Falcons. Dont know if TV covered the jazz rendition replete with Sax solo screwup of the national anthem which was done on radio. But if it was let em know it was disgraceful.
POLL: Why is NFL viewership so low?
Competition from the hurricanes and the presidential race
Fans’ disgust over anti-American protests
A combination of factors
I’m not sure

What presidential race? That ended almost a year ago!
It’s simple: The NFL and the networks have chosen not to offend the guys that sign the backs of the checks and instead have chosen to offend those that sign the FRONTS of checks (the fans).....Stupid strategy, all to avoid being called racist.
Fan disgust 45%
May it die a slow, painful, cancer ridden death.
Sooner than later!
So true. I quit baseball then NASCAR but was never a pro foootball fan. The reason is the same for all. Spoiled players, spoiled owners and greedy leagues. Can’t root for a team when it changes dramatically from year to year. No fan loyalty, no player loyalty, no city loyalty, no TEAM!
They will kill college football next. Already have really give it 7 years.
A game that involves men dressing up in costumes, chasing each other around a field, and smacking each other’s posteriors is bad.
Roger that!
Players don’t respect me, my country and my flag, I’m damned if I will watch them!
It’s obvious it’s a combination of things.
It may not go over well here but I’m willing to bet some people are not watching because they think Kapernick is being treated unfairly, especially 49er fans, although I think many people have stopped going to those particular games because the team is really bad. The perennially bad teams are losing fans as well.
I also think a lot of people are sickened by the CTE issue and have pulled kids from youth football and stopped watching any football.
Many more are sick of all the commercials, endless penalties, instant replay, rules favoring offense and penalizing for the BIG HIT that everyone loved, etc. In other words, the flow and quality of the game is low and darn near painful at times.
Regardless, it’s not just conservatives turning off the TV...it’s a combination of factors that all lead to fewer people watching.
My theory is this is the beginning of the end for the NFL due solely to CTE. Just saw A. Hernandez had CTE, too. Of the players tested it’s 110 out of 111 players had it.
That is very bad for business and they’re seeing it at the lower levels as parents pull kids from the sport, just like I did.
In LA the local Mexican Americans root for the Mexican teams over the LA Galaxy.
There's a lot of Viva La Raza sentiment running through the crowds when the Galaxy goes up against a Mexican team.
Rush was talking about that very thing yesterday, he also predicted when the CTE issue first came up that it was the beginning of the end of the NFL and it seems he was right. Yeah if brain damage is going on regularly then, I can’t see who would even want to play it pro anymore. Speaking if Hernandez, I heard one guy in the radio bringing up OJ as well. From what I understand they can’t really tell if someone has CTE until they are dead and an autopsy is done. That would be really messed up if he had it as well. What I’m having trouble with is how do they get it if they wear helmets? I would think boxers would get it a hell of lot more as well as soccer players who constantly hit the ball with their heads. I use to play soccer for fun, and that ball if you don’t hit it right it can feel like a bat to the head
Fall is my favorite time of the year. I work with guys (and gals) that literally spend their entire weekends from September-January indoors watching college/pro football games. I watch every now and then, but in the Fall, I’d rather be outdoors.
You’re right, CTE can only be detected after death. The 111 brains tested were all ex-NFL players but in the broader study, CTE was diagnosed in 87% of 202 former football players including high school, college, NFL, Canadian Football League and semipro.
I would not be surprised at all if boxers and perhaps soccer players had this too.
Plus, I've quit hitting the sports bar on Sunday's to take in the games and throw a few back! Hurting the sports bars, too, which is unfortunate.
ESPN in also on my boycott list! Except, and unless, the Gators are on. SEC Network is owned by ESPN. Oh, the quandary....
What “presidential race”?
TRY RUGBY!!!!
A real contact sport with none of garbage.
No pads or helmets, man to man, non stop action.
ESPN3 on cable has a lot of it.
