Where is this motive substantiated. Didn’t see it in the linked article beyond the title. No other reports mention this at all. Not a word.
Some details in this article

Apparently he sent notes to his friends saying he was going to do “something stupid”. One warned administration. Didn’t seem to stop things.
Only personality trait listed was that he liked Breaking Bad.
This is an embarrassment to FR -- I'd recommend you ask that the Mods pull it.
Nothing in the story or any other report seems to back up the headline. Until you can get someone on the record to backup the claim that the shooter was motivated by anti-Trump sentiment that looks like fake news to me.
This is what Antifa is encouraging by accusing Pres. Trump and his supporters of being fascists. Young people are indoctrinated into thinking they are on the right side of history in attacking those who support the president. Will the msn report this story truthfully?
The shooter is a sophomore in the high school where the shooting took place. He’s in custody. He had been watching documentaries about school shootings, and had mentioned to at least one other student that he was considering “doing something stupid”. I’m 99.999% sure that politics had nothing to do with this.
The headline and article in the OP are fake news of the worst kind.
The Enemedia will be busier than a cat in cow pasture covering this up!..................
While I would prefer it that way, I think we should all cool down and let the facts speak for themselves.
This could be FAKE NEWS>
Is the Media hailing him as a hero yet?
Stop guessing. It was probably MARINER makin’ a “hit” on some poor sap in need of pain meds.
Nothing in the article supports the headline of this thread, not of the article upon which it’s based.
