If these people had half a brain, they would have seen this pattern of behavior in the Clintons from the beginning of their political careers. By "holding the bag," he means all that money handed out to her, and now they'll get no favors in return. That's what happens when you give a helping hand to criminals. You can never trust them to give you your share of the take in return.
