This morning, someone in Googleplex, Googles sprawling facility in Mountain View, California, visited this Web site. I know because their company name and IP address, originating from 1600 Ampitheatre Parkway, appeared in my visitor log tracked by my statistics analytics service. (See graphic below.)
Perhaps I should be pleased to see that LoudCitizen.org has attracted their interest. But the increasing suppression of free speech from tech giants like Google, Facebook and Twitter only makes me wonder if I am on their radar like so many others.
I havent been this concerned since 2010, when I reported on Ray Kellys speech about Barack Obamas and Eric Holders decision the host to terrorist Khalid Sheikh Mohammeds criminal trial in lower Manhattan.
That story not only attracted multiple visits from White House servers, but just about every branch of government and major media (see my Lucky Lotto page, where I have documented notable site visits). The morning I noticed the White House was reading my piece, I was thrilled, but also a bit nervous that someone was accessing my story from servers originating from the IP address of The Executive Office of the President, www.eop.gov.
This morning I am just as concerned, but not the least bit thrilled.
It is very strange when you notice Google visiting your website, especially from its headquarters in Mountain View, California.
I really can’t imagine whey they would be interested in my page. I do host it on Google’s Blogger, so there could be a connection there. Other than that, except for their hostility to free speech, I can’t think of another reason.
Thanks for the poem.
Please join me in welcoming visitors from Banner Elk, North Carolina and other patriotic cities.
If you are using Blogger, you do NOT own your site.
Sure hope you are keeping frequent and complete backups.

I am not so sure about that. I do back up the site. What part of my site is owned by someone else? The content? The copyright?
The Google bots trawl the web constantly, cataloging and archiving everything.
This is not a Google bot visit, I can assure you. My site is crawled often and those crawls do not show up as site hits.
This is from a personal computer running Windows 7 and Internet Explorer 11, using a screen with a resolution of 1024x768.
+1 it was probably archiving.
Think about relocating the site to XYZ/SAMPLE HOST (fake name).
Can you make a local backup and upload the site configuration to another non-google host?
Sure it was. That’s how they do it.
Why don’t you post the image here instead of trying to lure people to your blog.
I don’t need to “lure” anyone; either they’re interested or they’re not.
Also, I am working on the resolution of the graphics; I’m not entirely happy with them, but they’ll do until I can fix them and repost in higher resolution.
I promise you, you are incorrect. I invite site crawlers to my site all the time. All of my recent articles have been crawled and indexed by Google and other search engines (I get my Google Alerts when it happens).
None of those site bot searches or hits have ever shown up in my stats counter; I keep a sharp eye on it.
“lure people to your blog..”
Is that YOU, Humble?! :)
must depend on the analytic package you use.
when I used my providers package I could see all the bots always.
With google analytics I cannot.
Very Likely good Americans (NOT AINOs) w/blogs, etc. would be very surprised if it were known just who, what, and how much they are being sniffed out by “they” out there.
but you are correct there is no identifying info about the hardware used
You’re right, I don’t use Google analytics. Well, I do check my Blogger analytics, but that wasn’t the source for the visit I found today.
