With the latest information (confirmed by the Pentagon) that North Korea has fired a missile over Japan land into open waters, tensions in the area are running higher than ever. But what is really happening? In this article, we’ll look at two different theories that could answer the question of why Kim Jong Un has decided to make this dangerous play (be warned, the second theory is pretty out there).
Theory One
This is part of a joint effort to firstly bolster his position within the DPRK, and secondly to garner International sympathy towards his country.
The initial part has already been achieved. Kim has shown his own people that he will not back down to threats or intimidation from other nations. Rodong Sinmun, an official in Pyongyang, said: “The US should know that it can neither browbeat the DPRK with any economic sanctions and military threats and blackmails nor make the DPRK flinch from the road chosen by itself.”

My idea...
just give North Korea to China if they deal with it.
I recently read where NK is in another famine or approaching one. I think Fatboy is wanting more food to prevent the peasants and possibly the army from revolting.
Which means it is probably true, given that things are pretty 'ridiculous' with the 'establishment' folks in our government.
It’s simple. N. Korea is a puppet state of China. The U.S forces are stressed and strained. Our economy is wrecked and the globalists are trying to take over and we have turned on ourselves as one sided racial division.
Nothing happens in NK without China’s tacit approval.
My theory is that China wants to use the USA to get rid of Kim Jong Il. He’s crazier than coon shit.
IMHO this is death by cop. Living in history forever.
What if Kim is really just nuts and wants to go out with 10 million of his followers like a cult leader does sometimes.
He may not have the guts to do it by hitting Guam, knowing he will be dead before the missile makes contact with Guam but likes the idea of dying with his followers, but not knowing exactly when.

Here’s my WAG, based on what you said there.
China says to the U.S.: We’ll contain North Korea. but you must give us a free hand in the South China Sea. Now, to “contain” North Korea, Kim must first do something that needs containing. Hence the missiles.
This gives the U.S. two options:
1. Agree to China’s proposal.
2. Counter by saying: If you don’t rein in Kim, we’ll slap all sorts of tariffs on Chinese imports. And if Kim does something really terrible, we’ll cancel the U.S. debt that China holds.
(There might be a third option, but I haven’t had my coffee yet.)
It’s certainly speculative but I certainly don’t think it’s crazy.

We regularly hear stuff like the oceans are boiling, a boy is the same thing as a girl, Mars will turn blue and have people all over it living happily, men can get married it’s the same as regular marriage...

He is a batshit crazy despot who has been insulated from the real world his whole life and has been brainwashed to believe that he is a living deity.
Kim does not want to lose face by backing down.
That is most of the motive.
