The far right has its own web, but what use is a site no-one will serve?

After Charlottesville and the murder of Heather Heyer, hitherto Nazi-friendly internet companies have found their boots and their banhammers. The angry right has for some time anticipated this eventuality, and colonized or established replicas of key services and platforms. 8chan, Voat and Gab are the most well-known examples, respectively resembling 4chan, Reddit and Twitter. Adi Robertson writes that the internet's plumbing, the world of domain name registrars and load mitigation, will be harder to replicate. Why the alt-right can’t build an alt-internet.

Even if such a registrar could ignore bad PR, activists could still lodge complaints with the registries, which ultimately control access to domains. There are ways to bypass ICANN entirely. A site could use an alternative domain name system like Namecoin, for instance. It could advertise a numerical IP address rather than a link. The Daily Stormer set up shop on the free and decentralized Tor network, operating on the so-called dark web. But at that point, you’re not just independent, you’re effectively walled off from the normal internet. ... Far-right sites and services want to be real alternatives to their mainstream counterparts, not just enclaves for true believers.

Whatever is taken from them may also be taken from you.

Stormfront went dark last night. I found it a good resource for what the real white nationalist movements believe. Straight from the horse’s mouth, or from the other end of the horse, if you like. I am a big boy and can find value in learning about things even that I find offensive. And, with the everyone from the President to his most humble supporter being accused of being white nationalists, it’s good to have information on the real thing to counter the accusations. Of course, we all know that the Internet is such a wholesome place filled with high-mindedness and moral purity that it just could not abide the presence of a handful of kooks and their ideas.

Not being an Internet or technology expert, I await those who are.

It's like this:

Imagine Google owning all the roads in the United States and then saying, "You can't drive on our roads if you have a Trump bumper sticker on your car. You can build your own roads if you'd like, but we own all the asphalt and paving equipment and we're not going to let you can't use it."

It's the best analogy I can think of.

To my way of thinking, the image should be wrapped around the equator of a globe: the two extreme ends will meet.

As presented, the linear format is the circumference of the political globe.

The issue needs to be presented in terms of longitude and latitude.

One avenue might be an application along the line of Zeronet. There are interesting claims that would need verification by those with appropriate skill.

Liberals make the association because it benefits them to demonize all conservatives as evil racists, hoping for racial genocide.
It also plays into their biases that nationalism is the evil, with conservatives valuing national borders, instead of socialism, which liberals hold up as a moral good.

The label of racism is sufficient for Big Tech to ban them from app stores.
Liberals are following Islam’s example. Once someone is labeled a blasphemer, violence against them by any and all true believers is permitted, no services or aid permitted, no ability to challenge the label in a fair trial, even police withdraw their protection from the liberal hate mob.
All they have to do is apply the label, and all vestiges of civil society and behavior vanish. You’re a witch, hunt down the witch.
The fact that the innocent may be accused and harassed or accosted is irrelevant. Or they consider it acceptable because the fear of being similarly threatened keeps people publicly in ideological lockstep ... similar to how Islam demands utter conformity with the ideology in public for the good in their minds of the ideology. Make it a totally encompassing, oppressive environment.

There are a very few small sites like writerbeat.com that don’t censor, but they are struggling to stay up because of few donors.

We need to go after Google as a monopoly. Microsoft was sued for having a browser and OS. Google has:
* nearly total market control of online advertising
* large majority of internet search
* large but minority share of content, like Youtube, Google books, Google+

Thank you. I'll have a look! I hadn't looked much at nets without centralized control since going through FidoNet BBS documentation and trying that. The Internet was originally intended to be more distributed in traffic management and resilient against centralized control, but it hasn't worked out that way.

Nazis are Socialist. They are far Left, not Right.

Exactly. But what I was pointing out was that the MSM calls them the 'far right'.
