We are planning a trip to Laughlin, NV the week between Christmas and New Years and could use some advise. We were wondering:
1.) Which hotel is the cleanest?
2.) Which hotel is the least smokey?
3.) Which casino is the least smokey?
4.) Which casino has the best payouts?
5.) What recreation is available in and around Laughlin?
6.) What are the best restaurants?
7.) Are boat rentals available that time of year?
Thanks!
Personal preference is the Golden Nugget for a nice room, casino and restaurants.
Ping.
The House always wins.
I always run a bed bug check at any place like that because of the high number of international tourists. Vegas has always been infested with them but Laughlin had fewer problems. This site has a good search engine:

Laughlin isn't known for 5 star hotels or eating establishments. Its a buffet type of place for most tourists. One little gem hidden in the Tropicana is a decent Italian restaurant that lets you conjure up your own pasta dishes. Its reasonably priced too, two for $25 or so with salad bar and bread sticks that never end. It is in the shops area behind the buffet and across from the stair ramp to the upper convention hall.
Tripadvisor.
Yes, I know about the online reviews. I was hoping to benefit from the vast personal knowledge of my fellow Freepers.
Might want to avoid any gym that Harry Reid uses.
Boat and personal watercraft rentals are available at the casinos/hotels as well as across the river in Bullhead City. Prices vary and you may get a discount by going through whichever hotel you’re staying at. Harrah’s is nice because it has a sandy beach area as well as a grassy lawn area near the water.
Private messaged you. If you’re seeing a show at Harrah’s why don’t you stay at Harrah’s? It’s a nice hotel.
That was our original plan but we saw some RECENT negative reviews: dirty carpets and bathrooms, etc. so we thought we'd do more research.
