Well, if one were to believe all the 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th hand accounts of what occurred, antifa, blm, bamn, sjws, snowflakes, liberal pieces of scat had their civil rights violated. Will a conclusion ever be arrived at as to what actaully happened or who started the frackas? Doubtful. From all the screaming I’ve been seeing, anyone that supports Trump must be vilified out of existence.

The investigators might want to start by investigating the leftwing political activist Mayor of Charlottesville and Governor Terry McAuliffe, and determine which of them ordered the police to stand down and allow the leftwing agitators to assault the white supremacists. It is, after all, a felony for any official to knowingly make a decision that causes any protesters to be violently assaulted while in the exercise of their first amendment rights.

Brilliantly stated. All we need are some honorable police officers to come forward and say who gave those orders? We know the police don't normally stand by and watch crimes be committed.

The Rutherford Institute and the ACLU of Virginia filed suit against the city on behalf of Kessler, the alt right member that organized the "unite the right" event.

The city revoked his permit while allowing permits held by counter protestors to remain.

So there's your first civil liberties violation.

Kessler won an injunction to allow the original permit to stand.

The complaint is a good read. You can clearly see the mayor, lt mayor, and city council were picking the side of the counter protestors.

We condemn and ridicule the left for their constant virtue signaling, but I’ve seen nothing but virtue signaling on our side since this legally permitted demonstration. Our side always loses because we always tear ourselves apart, which is just pathetic.

There were 40-50 white supremacist protestors resisting the removal of Civil War monuments vs. over 1,000 facist counter-protestors.

This has NOTHING to do with president Trump.

The worrisome part of this is that the violent counter protests of the left/antifa shitlibs have been condoned by government leaders in a large city, and the message is clear. They can act with pretty much impunity while those directing the actions of the cops will look the other way. It was pretty easy to see this was coming, after what has already taken place on college campuses.

If you go to a political rally, expect violence. And the police will not protect you or uphold the constitution with your 1st amendment rights.

The 14th Amendment reads:
All persons born or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the State wherein they reside. No State shall make or enforce any law which shall abridge the privileges or immunities of citizens of the United States; nor shall any State deprive any person of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor deny to any person within its jurisdiction the equal protection of the laws.
In the early days, "equal protection of the laws" meant exactly that. The KKK would openly commit violence, and the sheriff would ignore crimes committed against blacks, and refuse to arrest or prosecute the Klan.

This is what we are increasingly seeing: police being told to "stand down" and not interfere with Democrats committing violence against Republicans.

A proper investigation by the DoJ will show that the mayor of Charlottesville and the governor of Virginia were complicit in the violence initiated by various leftist groups such as antifa and blm.

Yes. This is why I think President Trump should cite an event that took place 40 years ago:
The Nazi march through Skokie, Illinois.

The Nazis went to court to get their permit to march. Everyone agreed their march was repugnant –especially the many Holocaust survivors who lived in Skokie.

But counter-protestors who lined the march's route did not attack. Whether this is a credit to the Skokie police department for keeping everyone in line, or not, I don't remember.

But I do remember that free speech was upheld ... and everyone went home alive.
