Some thoughts about the horrible events in Charlottesville:
First of all, the ideology of the white nationalists who showed up to protest is vile and unacceptable. The same can be said of many of those who showed up to counter-protest. Everyone has a right to protest, and to counter-protest. Ive done it myself. They have every right to demonstrate peacefully, to carry signs, to shout slogans, no matter how vile they may be. They have every right to shout at each other back and forth, no matter how fruitless that may be. This is America. You get to do that.
What you do not get to do is commit acts of violence. And lets be honest, there was violence among the white supremacists and violence among those who came to protest against them. Its all wrong, and it all needs to be condemned. I agree with Sen. Ted Cruz that it should be investigated as domestic terrorism. All of it.
I thought President Trump sounded a good tone. He condemned the violence from all sides and called for national unity and love. Exactly what I expect from my president at times like this. I think the criticism of him for not singling out one side or the other is unwarranted and unfair. But his political opponents couldnt help but attack it.
Now the tough but necessary points:
If you heard about this and your first thought, or your second, or your third, was how to gain political advantage from this, youre part of the problem.
If you are upset by these events but you were justifying the riots around the Inauguration, or in Baltimore, or in Ferguson, youre part of the problem.
If youre offended by the white supremacist ideology but not by chants like Pigs in a blanket. Fry em like bacon or What do we want? Dead cops! When do we want it? Now!, youre part of the problem.
If you consider one of these mobs fascist thugs, but not the other, youre part of the problem.
If you condemn one side of this or the other, but leave the other side(s) unmentioned, youre implicitly justifying and excusing the violence of the side you wont mention. That makes you part of the problem.
Im sorry if that offends you, but its the way it is.
What we need most right now is prayer and unity. We need to pray for the victims of the violence, their friends and families, for law enforcement, for the public officials, for the people who perpetrated this horrible violence, for our leaders, for our country, for each other. And we need to stop politicizing events like this.
And we need to unite in rejection of these extremist ideologies all of them and in support of civilized, ordered liberty for all. We need to address each other more civilly. We need to stop feeding the hatred of extremists on all sides who promote this kind of hatred and horror. Remember, were all Americans. Were all human beings. Were all the heart and hands of God. Its time to start acting that way.
Let us recognize the divine in each other and let us work together, hand in hand, even though we vigorously disagree, to solve this in peace and love. Together.
Now, lets get to it.
Black supremacy, Latino supremacy, and Islamic supremacy are REAL. Black supremacists are actually calling for a separate homeland in the South. La Raza wants to reconquer the Southwest. But when whites get together peacefully to save a heritage that has been the glue to this nation, and has benefited ALL races, they get called extremists and racists and all Republicans are forced to grovel and apologize for them.
Until the political Left denounces their real racists, I am NOT condemning whites for peacefully assembling and upholding the traditions and values that have made this country the greatest nation in human history.
According to the symbols on their shields it would appear to be fascism.
Don’t know, but it isn’t the fist time the Antifa mob has been run over with no charges filed.
We shall see.
I’m betting on a conviction.
I haven’t seen anything about this rally or protest before today. I didn’t see any mentions of this on FR, T_D, or anywhere else.
Who set this rally up?
Antifa are Soros creeps.....then they drag along all the college kiddies so they can play fight club for the day.
I bet he won’t live to see the trial.
Protesting is not political freedom. Voting is political freedom.
Protesting after the vote because you don’t like the outcome is cheating.
“...the ideology of the white nationalists who showed up to protest is vile and despicable.”
Actually, I don’t think anyone has publically articulated, in terms acceptable to both sides, just what their ideology is, or why it is unacceptable.
In this incident, everyone seems to be assuming the identities and motives of both sides. I haven’t seen any actual facts.
The most important question, who started the violence?, does not even seemed to have been asked. ‘the other guys did!’ appears to be the outcry.
One thing is certain: the authorities failed to keep the two sides separated, making the violence predictable.
‘Call’ the all to a volatile community for a protest when they're already fighting a race conflict amongst themselves and it's like pouring gas on a fire.. All officials knew what would come of this....including a full court media frenzy.

Democracts were the KKK and still are in a rainbow of colors. The Klan does not denounce the Klan.
“I think it’s even legal now in North Carolina and maybe even in Tennessee.”
I thought Charlottesville was in Virginia.
I’d like to find a way for towns to be able to summarily send all of the “out of town” jerkwads packing. It’s getting pretty predictable, with bus and transport van loads of guys all dressed alike carrying “signs” that look more like baseball bats.
Up to the DA. It happens all over. Here’s another one that will warm your liberal heart.
“Up to the DA.”
Perhaps I missed that day, but I don’t think a DA takes into consideration what might be legal in another jurisdiction.
The whole Charlottesville thing was a put up job, very likely by Soros who has finally figured out how to play both ends, and more the right against the left, to the effect that Trump supporters will heretofore be viewed as disaffected nazis, klansman, and other ultra-rightest jerks.
Those flags even still had the creases as if theyd just been unpacked.
Weve been played, and its going to be really hard to earn back whatever credibility has been stolen from us.
Look for this kind of stuff to be the new normal.
Fox News: Neo-nazis on the march again.
Thanks for the info. Also I believe that most of these people were against removing historic statues from the public park. But there’s always going to be a couple of bad eggs in any crowd.
It’s vile to protest INTENTIONAL elimination of an entire race?
Especially if you are a member of the race to be eliminated. You are supposed to just go quietly and keep your mouth shut.
