Amazon’s Post–Civil War Series Will Envision a U.S. Where Freed Slaves Got Their Own Country

Hollywood projects famously come in pairs, from movies about asteroids to movies about Hercules, and that rule apparently holds true even when it comes to the highly specific subgenre of TV series envisioning an alternate end to the American Civil War. For the last two weeks, HBO and Game of Thrones showrunners David Benioff and D.B. Weiss have been dealing with the backlash over the announcement of Confederate, a TV series set in a United States where the South successfully seceded and slavery remains legal below the Mason-Dixon Line. And now Amazon has revealed that it’s planning Black America, a series created by Will Packer and Boondocks cartoonist Aaron McGruder in which, as a form of reparations, black Americans have annexed three former slave states and founded a country of their own called New Colonia....

If you do the calculations relative to the number of people living in the south the percent of money going to the federal government was at least 90%

The New York bankers and the New England mill owners would never give away any land that grew cotton or any land that brought in that much money.

Might I add the entire myth of the “Pilgrims” aka the “Separatists” was post War Between the States.
This was an attempt to erase the fact “American” began in Virginia.
Insult to injury, Thanksgiving was a tradition that started in Virginia.

It also led to a nine volume alternate history series about the history of the USA and CSA as they struggle for supremacy on the continent. Harry Turtledove is a really entertaining ‘alternate historian’.

I can prove that at least 74% of all taxes were paid by the South. (Which was only 1/4th of the Total US population.) I've seen others who using Department of Commerce records, claim the total was around 83%.

More accurately the bulk of tax revenues were provided by slave labor.

This is exactly correct and Washington DC was content to let the money from slave labor keep rolling in. What they objected to was the stoppage of all that slave earned money.
