They live in their open world. I did orientation for two young guys one time, one black, one white. When I call people up I always use their whole formal name to avoid any confusion. I called up the white guy, James something. After I got finished I heard the black guy ask the white guy why I called him James, he thought his name was Jimmy. The black guy had no idea about the nickname. The white guy didn’t understand what the guy was asking him. How isolated from normal American culture would you have to be to not know the nickname for James is Jimmy?
Lotsa Southerners — both black and white — have “Jimmy” or “Bobby” or “Billy” as part of their legal names. For example, “Jimmy John” or “Bobby Joe” or “Billy Ray” or others I’ve known. Spelled that way on their birth certificates and drivers’ licenses.
And who can forget Lyndon Johnson’s infamous Press Secretary, Billy Don “Bill” Moyers? It’s definitely a Southern thing.
Anyway, you may call us ignorant if you wish, but we jus’ don’t feel obliged always to stick with fancy names like James, Robert and William.
Until I started watching Tommy, I had no idea about the kinds of crimes blacks perpetrated across the country - and I’m of the colored persuasion myself. I have never seen the kinds of depraved behavior - from murdering their own kids to beating up shop owners - that he shows. If he didn’t include news clips, I wouldn’t believe it, and yet, there it is.
These people are nothing like the regular black people - the doctors, lawyers, teachers, post office workers - that I grew up with in DC. It’s mind boggling and makes me glad that I now live in a white state in flyover country.
I grew up in DC, with the Smithsonian and National Zoo and art galleries galore. Almost all of these resources are free.
And yet, when my mother taught in the DC public schools and took kids on field trips, most of them had never been to any of them. Parents should be ashamed. All they had to do was get on a bus and they could have opened the wonders of the world and history to their children, but no. It’s hard to believe that a parent could be so thoughtless and selfish as to deprive a child like that.

You......did notice my screen name, didn’t you? Southern born and bred. Living in as just st about as far south Alabama as you can get. That was my first and only experience ever with someone who didn’t know James and Jimmy.
Why was the mother not charged? Because the prosecution needed her testimony.
Why did the woman allow this guy to have sex with her daughter, on a regular and routine basis, allowing him to get the kid pregnant twice? Because most likely momma was fat and unattractive, was not getting much attention from guys until this guy comes along, and having access to the kid was the price of having him around, and she wanted him around.
For some (many?) welfare moms, the kid is just a means of getting a check. Imagine growing up realizing that.

Have listened to Tommy A LOT. One thing he has said is how blacks never leave their neighborhood so much so that two bad things are happening.
1. The BT’s (Beastie Terminatrix) are having kids by several fathers in the hood.
now when these kids grow up they don’t know their father nor that their father had other kids by other BT’s across town so..
2. Those kids often have kids with half brothers and sisters.

There is a form of retardation that develops from inbreeding. Was a family from australia who had it very badly. That was a family of only four generations that started from one brother and sister. Anyway, you must have led a very sheltered life down there. I can assure you that in the rest of the South, it’s no big deal to have “Jimmy” or “Jimmie” as a legal name on your birth certificate and drivers license.
