The correct course of action beyond the public relations and political angle is the legal one. Trump's attorneys need to block access to all attempts to subpoena or immunize any witnesses whose testimony or evidence clearly lies outside the scope of the Russian "election tampering" investigation.

If the courts rule against him, he loses nothing by doing this. But if he can file to successfully get injunctions against Mueller he would be able to limit the scope of Mueller's investigation if Rosenstein will not.

I agree, although I think it is crucial that public attention be brought to bear on Rosenstein’s improper authorization and Mueller’s activities beyond the scope of that authorization.
