Fake news does not belong specifically to the mainstream media, it thrives among latter day pollsters too.
The truth about Rasmussen and other pollsters should be shouted from the rooftops.
While most people use cell phones, pollsters call land lines for their polls.
As Canada Free Press reader Paul Bush of Illinois so aptly puts it: By their own admission they call LAND LINES!
Until pollsters show us that they have changed, they are still just a glorified PR Department.
If pollsters are so good at their work, how have they NOT identified, with Trump voters. It appears they are still in denial— rather like the Democrats
Before Nov 2016 elections, I was polled 3-5 times a week.
Since election—NOT ONE CALL. I have ONLY a land line.
probably with cell phones with state polls is, the number could be for Iowa and you now live in Illinois
We have a land line too, but every week we get closer to dropping it. We get ten or more robo-calls a day from scammers, or scam charities, or sales people. We do not answer any number we do not recognize, but these calls stay on the line, trigger the answering machine, then block the line and result in “If you would like to make a call please hang up and try again” message from the phone company. If the telephone company wants people to keep their land lines, thy need to do something about this problem.
I do not anwer any call if I do not recognize the number.
If they call multiple times without identifying themselves as someone I wish to speak with on my voicemail then I set my phone to reject future calls.
Most people I associate with do the same thing.
I do not believe that accurate polls can be made by phone anymore because people who have decided they have no time for unwanted calls are probably not distributed evenly across all political, social, and economic demographics.
And the landline only exists to see if the line itself is down if the internet goes down. That would be the only time I plug a phone into it.
Exactly why we are thinking of dropping our land line.
We use this on our landline:
My folks are elderly - one can barely answer the phone (but thinks if the phone rings, he HAS to get it) and has no business talking to scammers since he’s easily mislead. The other can’t handle the phone ringing off the hook with scam calls. This call blocker has brought peace/tranquility to our home - best money I’ve ever spent & I say that in all seriousness. Works like a charm. I have had to reset it from the factory default which is to receive all calls & block the ones you don’t want. We EXCLUDE all calls except our local area code (which allows doctors, most family, friends, etc.) & I allow other numbers (most out of state, different area codes) for family, etc. we want to talk to.
Wife and I dropped our land line almost two years ago. Same old story full of robo calls from department stores, credit offerors and IRS lien scammers. She has a full metal jacket cell phone device with all the social media crap and just have a simple flip phone for when one or either of us is on the road. Life is much more simple and a bit cheaper. Trust me.
I believe you. We rarely get "normal" calls from friends and family on our land line, most are robo calls and scammers, they even spoof numbers from local businesses here in town.
Gallup now uses cell phone numbers, but Rasmussen is still landline only.
I seldom answer my land line, unless the party is known to me (caller ID) or a message of interest begins to be left.
Polls are worthless. Ignore all polls - what is their function?
