Almost ALL Developed Nations Require Voter ID – Why Not the US?
IWB ^ | Mark Angelides

The idea that to ask voters to provide photographic identification to either register to vote or to actually vote is neither uncommon, nor new. It is a process used in most of the world’s developed nation. And the reason they do it is…To prevent Voter Fraud.

If a nation does not take its elections seriously, then it does not take the rights of its citizens seriously; consider that the UN actually has “vote checking” teams who oversee elections and electoral processes around the world because of the prevalence of attempted voter fraud and voter intimidation. Why then, does the US not consider this to be an issue?

Does the government (and departments of the government) think that US citizens are naturally more honest and upright than the folk of developing nations? Or are they fully aware that voter fraud takes place, but as the recipients of the benefits, are loathe to actually do anything?

Many states have voter ID. I don’t think there are any federal laws on the subject.

In states without voter ID, that situation exists because the liberals who run those states have decided it is discrimination to ask for an ID.

Now I'm curious, which developed countries besides the United States do not require proper identification to vote?

The Mexican national ID card is issued with a fee of roughly $30. I think if you show you are on welfare, it comes free.

All countries in the EU issue a national ID as well.

Require voter ID or your state’s electoral votes are not counted.

Pay everyone who gets the ID 25 dollars for their trouble.
(puts an end to the I’m too poor to go get an ID)

The ID should have both a photo and a barcode and a printed number matching the barcode (for vote by mail)...once the ID has been used to vote no other vote will be counted for that ID...once and done.

For the elderly and infirm have people go to their home and process the ID.

Would cost a few billion...cheap at the price.

Because democrats said that minorities (except asians) are too stupid to understand what an ID is much less be able to execute the actions required to obtain one. Plus they is be po’. And even if the government not only provided free IDs and did so by personally traveling to the minorities home, filling out the paper work, then returning and hand delivering the ID, its still unfair because minorities (except asians) are so stupid and are completely devoid of agency that they would just lose their ID before voting day anyway

My Indiana drivers license is also my voter ID. When I go to the polling place, they put the ID in a reader, up comes my ballot, I vote, and my vote is a recorded. I don’t know that anyone in Indiana has made any serious pushback against this. If this is okay in Indiana, why isn’t it okay in other states?

The only requirement in the UK is that I have already registered to vote.
Your name is then crossed off the list when you vote.
There are no real checks on who registers to vote that I’ve encountered.
