War With North Korea Could Trigger A World War

On the surface, the conflict between the US and North Korea looks simply like the world’s superpower trying to quell the dangerous power of a dictatorial madman. However, after examining the details of this conflict more closely, a much more complex and dangerous situation is revealed.

The origins of this conflict began during the time of World War II. Up until the end of the great war, Korea was ruled by Imperial Japan. After the US and Soviet Union defeated Japan, they came to an agreement to where they would both share the land for military purposes. The Soviet and Chinese-backed Korea was in the north, and the US-backed Korea was in the South.

Not long after the second world war, tensions began to rise between the communist countries (USSR and China) and the US. In 1950, the communist troops from the north invaded the US-backed southern territory, and the Korean War officially began. The result of this war was a division of the two territories into North Korea and South Korea.

And what might be the prognosis if the NORKs actually deploy a nuke on anyone and then have to be put down?

“The biggest cause for concern is the growing military alliance between Russia and North Korea, with the two regimes recently announcing plans to conduct a series of joint army, navy and air force exercises this year.”

Russia steps up North Korea support to constrain US

May 17, 2017

“Despite efforts by the United Nations to impose isolating sanctions on North Korea in response to the country’s continued development of nuclear weapons and intercontinental ballistic missiles, trade between Russia and North Korea soared more than 85 percent in the first four months of the year.”

Never take geo political advice or analysis from an international business “investor” type. The are state-less creatures that only want one thing, “free” trade i.e open access US consumer markets and closed foreign markets to US made goods. On-way trade. That is ALL they care about.

Oh come on. It’ll be clean, quick, decisive, and over in weeks, just like Afghanistan and Iraq.

...and the American Civil War. People came out from Washington to watch the first battle as if it were a stage play. Everybody “knew” it would be over in a few weeks.

Yet so few articles bother to mention the many troubling things the Russians are up to. Thus the reason for my "spamming" Russia-related threads with such key facts. Most folks, it seems, know or understand next to nothing about what's going on regarding Russia.

And, speaking of a potential world war, here's something else only a rare few here seem to know anything about...

How Russia arms America's southern neighbors

Ioan Grillo
May 9, 2014

RIO DE JANEIRO, Brazil -- Russia's push into Ukraine has put many on edge. But less known is that Russia is also strengthening its military links south of the Rio Grande and re-establishing itself as a power in the region.

Vladimir Putin has been strengthening military links here, and Russia is now the largest arms dealer to governments in Latin America, surpassing the United States.

Russia has even floated the possibility of building new military bases in Cuba, Venezuela and Nicaragua, and putting its warships permanently in the Caribbean.

In the midst of the Ukraine crisis, Russia's top diplomat Sergei Lavrov recently visited Cuba, Peru, Chile, and Nicaragua, where he announced that Russia would also pour money into the new Central American canal project. ..."

Russia Boosts Arms, Training for Leftist Latin Militaries

Moscow defense minister inks deals with Cuba, Venezuela, Nicaragua for joint exercises

BY: Bill Gertz
February 20, 2015

Russia agreed to provide military training for three leftist regimes in Latin America and increase military visits and exercises following a visit last week to the region by Moscow's Defense Minister Sergei Shoygu, Pentagon officials said.

Shoygu met with defense and military leaders in Cuba, Venezuela, and Nicaragua and signed several agreements on warship visits and military training during the visit, which ran from Feb. 11 to 14. It is not clear whether any new arms deals were completed during the visit.

Defense officials said the Russian leader is seeking bases in the region for strategic bomber flights that Shoygu recently promised would include flights over the Gulf of Mexico and Caribbean.

I see a solution to this and it isn’t political. The US announces more successes with their ABM systems. The statement from the President needs to be clear, concise and have teeth behind it.

“America takes North Korea’s threat of annihilating the US very seriously so we put a strategy in place to prevent this. The next ballistic missile that North Korea launches, even if they are declaring it a test, for the protection of the US and all of humanity we will assume it contains a nuclear device. Our first step will be to shoot the missile down and we will follow with a launch of our own. It is the responsibility of the actors in the region to ensure North Korea does not have a nuclear capability as it is a threat to world peace.”

Exactly, a NORK attack, we could hope a failure or near miss, on the US, US forces or our allies would be a perfectly justifiable reason to take them out and the rest of the world would have little to say in reply.

The US and Russia defeated Japan? As I recall. The last time Russia went to war against Japan, Ivan got his ass kicked at Port Arthur.
