And we all know how flawlessly those brains work don’t we? Maybe they could just leave the safety off while others have an option, There’s just something about having an obstacle between a projectile and the family jewels that intrigues me.
Glock owners typically don’t respect people having safety options. They won’t holster a hot 1911 with the safety off, but will holster a hot Glock. Weird.
Have you looked at the RIA FS HC Ultra 10mm double stack yet?
Yeah, not for self defense but because it's a boomer. Have had a DW 8" .44 mag for a long time. Deer and bears don't like it, but I do. Groups good at 50 yds when I do my part.
Nope, will now.
Hope yer good.
I’d like to handle one. 16 rounds sounds like a fat handle. Price looks good though.
Because it doesn't need one. Your finger should be your "safety".
Also, are you trolling?
“Because it doesn’t need one. Your finger should be your “safety”.”
As a proud and happy multiple-Glock owner, but also as a recently-retired combat arms Sergeant Major with multiple tours down-range, I will say that if it’s going to be issued to the military, it DOES need one.
Your finger and your brain SHOULD be your safety, but there are a lot of “shoulds” out there that need some mechanical help.
Why no thumb safety?
If you train with the gun properly, you don’t need one. And arguably it gives one a small time advantage when going from holster to shots on target. One less step in the path. I have trained with but glock and 1911. I love the 1911 but the glock is simpler thus faster.
“Why does Glock refuse to put a thumb safety on its pistols?
Because it doesn’t need one. Your finger should be your “safety”.

So the M1911, P38, Luger, PPK,M9 etc are defective? Are M1’s,M14’s, AR’s, AK’s, etc pussy guns? There is a reason for safeties...safety. The human brain is not a mechanical safety nor is a finger.
This is a forever debate and I understand and respect both sides of the argument, do what you will and godspeed. I am a Glock owner myself but at my age I have a very dim view of the safety of the human brain, trigger finger, and fortuitous events. Over confidence is a killer and I have no interest in a Glock leg or nuts.
The only thing I troll for are crappies, walleyes etc
Yours truly
Almost all situations are not going to be throwdowns where who clears leather first wins. How long does it take to flick off a safety?
Most gunfights last less than 2 seconds. If I can save .1 second I just got a 5% edge. If I fumble a safety under stress I just gave up .5 sec giving the opponent a 25% edge, maybe more if he has already drawn. I like to play odds more than just gamble on a situation I can’t predict.
Skin that smokewagon and godspeed.
