‘Why are the Drive-Bys pushing Huckabee?’ Because they think that Huckabee is a nut. They think that Huckabee is a Bible-thumping preacher that’s going to be marching into every woman’s home and telling her, ‘No, you must not and cannot have an abortion,’ and then they think he’s going to hijack the Constitution and write Roe vs. Wade out of it without even going to the Supreme Court. And then they think he’s going to make every liberal kid go to Sunday school. This is what they think of him. This is what they think of any God-fearing pastor or conservative religious person. And as such, they think that would be easy to beat.
If the President just keeps improving the economy, jobs, foreign policy, reins in Foggy Bottom, and doesn't let his CNN vendetta distract him, wouldn't neo-Angela Davis, Kamala Harris, be the perfect candidate for him to meet in 2020?

Mike Huckabee was never close to acquiring the nomination and he would not have won anything IMHO.

She will obliterate any sort of Jeb Bush or Kasich; I do not know how she would fare against a Trump re-run but that doesn’t look exactly rosy at this juncture, IMO.

It’s a good point about not wasting her on a incumbent, maybe two things change that: Trump actually lost the popular vote and in the states that Trump flipped, Clinton’s minority turnout was much less than Obama’s.
I think they would be nuts to run anyone but a minority.

While I am quite certain that Harris will be the 2020 nominiee of the Democratic Party and have stated so on this forum many, many times, and I do agree she should be a formidable candidate, I would not say necessarily that she would probably win. Obama represented lightning in a bottle at just the right time. If the economy is doing well, and international hotspots have simmered down, Trump will be difficult to beat. Repeating the Obama miracle will take more than skin color. Like sequels that never repeat the success of the original film, running the same script over and over in politics does not always pan out.
