Although Michelle O was always hyped said to be the most fashionable FLOTUS since Jackie O, some of us have always had our doubts.
But the media still hasn’t given up on their Black Jackie, as this headline from earlier this week attests: Michelle Obama Sports a Fashion-Forward Look to Present at the ESPY Awards. Still pushing that “fashion forward” meme, I think you all saw how far forward yesterday:
But back to our newest FLOTUS - a lot of people are beginning to think that perhaps she may actually be the most fashionable first lady since Jackie.
Jackie never wore much jewelry and neither does Melania, but when they did they made sure they were doing the wearing, not the other way around.
And the same goes for sunglasses. Jackie of course literally invented Jackie O sunglasses:
And like Jackie our newest FLOTUS seems to appreciate the modicum of privacy they provide in a casual moment.
Ditto our last FLOTUS.
And yes, the shoes are lovely: red suede stilettos. I know many of you are yuge fans but all I can say is better her than me.
And while I’m sure there’s more important news out there today, Melania’s lovely ensemble reminds me that homegrown tomatoes are just starting to come on in these climes. That means summer is officially in high gear and as such I’m free to ignore the news, and so are you. So I’m going shopping for some great bread and tons of bacon to go with the lovely orbs I picked up at the farmers market yesterday. I’m going to be busy Making America Great Again – one BLT at a time.
Perhaps tomorrow I’ll discuss Brigitte Macron. Poor little thing.

She was ugly from the inside and it showed on the outside. She had all the class of an old dump truck.
We had to put up with 8 years of fake fawning since there was no way for the lsm to say anything about how ugly she was — it would BE RASSIST!!!
Our new FLOTUS is absolutely stunning — AND brilliant. What a happy difference!

That “wide stance” photo reminds me of the remark made by a good ol’ boy from somewhere in Dixie when observing a bowlegged person: “He couldn’t corner a hog in a ditch.” Think about it.
Red pumps. I love the sight of pumps on a nice pair of legs and ankles. Our FLOTUS certainly has those, in spades! God has blessed America!
The press claims moochelle is a Ferrari.
We all know she is a Trabant.
Even if she was a white as the driven snow, and please don’t call me racist, I’d call her an ape. She is horrific.
Melania’s spike heels are not easy to walk in. That she can descend the narrow, steep stairs of AF1 looking so poised in those stilettos is impressive. I couldn’t do it without tripping. A fall from the top would be a serious injury, yet she just Evil Kenivel’s it.
I really like Melania’s hair when it’s up. She’s fun to watch.
Heh.......Hillary’s dress is horrible.
I read that poor, little Chelsea bought 2-10,000 dollar dresses....one for the ceremony and one for the reception.
Melania has a far better figure, better legs, better proportions. Jackie had huge feet and bowlegs with prominent shins, no poitrine, and you could drive a truck up her forehead between her eyes. Don't get me started on the precious babydoll voice.
The buzz is designer's hated her----but they'd have their names mentioned.
Explains why they talked her into donning these flaming fashion flops.
And those shoes? Tasteless and ugly.
Only Chicago trash thinks these were flattering.
I noticed that her (?) ankles tend to turn out, in (these) heels. A sign of not being used to wearing heels...or....something else? She mostly wears flats, that I can tell.
Can you imagine, as a top WOMEN’S COUTURE designer, having to dress/design for such a large, manly figure? You’re used to working with svelte figures, and are (forced) asked to design something attractive for that??? Yikes.
