He is telling us we need to return to the pre-industrial world. All of this luxury has us procreating and living too long.

Bill Nye's grandfather switched from riding a horse to a car as a personal choice because it benefited him. Bill Nye is now advocating that we sacrifice for no benefit at all.

If solar panels were 100% efficient and placed over massive areas, required no cleaning or upkeep, then maybe we could use solar for large scale energy. It also would require huge battery stores as electricity is used up the moment it is created.

My grandfather was in WWI. He told his kids they wouldn’t be here if he didn’t play dead in the trenches as the Germans jumped their horses over.

What side was Nye’s grandpa on?

It means he is an ignorant ass. The changes that came about came because people followed their own needs and wants. It wasn’t some grand government program designed to eliminate the horse because of some magical belief that horses were ruining the planet.

Completely nonsensical argument. Nobody I have ever heard or read has the slightest problem with Renewables. However anyone who can do sixth grade math can see that renewables are not adequate for our level of civilization and whether or not renewables are valid or not valid has nothing to do with whether the globe is warming. I mean, this is just nonsense pretzel logic.

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Morgenthau_Plan

After World War 2, the Morgenthau Plan was to de-industrialize Germany and make it a farming economy.

Once it was estimated that would eliminate 1/2 the population, the planners got cold feet.

Apparently modern liberals aren’t so queasy. Of course they would be allowed to live.

In the Cambrian Period, atmospheric CO2 levels were 7000 ppm
In the Permian Era, atmospheric CO2 levels were 200 ppm.
Today, atmospheric CO2 levels are around 370 ppm, and The AlGore Acolytes intone that if we hit 400 ppm, all is Doom. Clearly that is poppycock.

Further, CO2 levels may not matter one whit, according to a new study that seems to utterly debunk the notion of CO2 acting as a Greenhouse... PV=nRT, the ancient formula, matters more than CO2 (which comprises about 0.04% of the atmosphere currently)

https://www.omicsonline.org/open-access/New-Insights-on-the-Physical-Nature-of-the-Atmospheric-Greenhouse-Effect-Deduced-from-an-Empirical-Planetary-Temperature-Model.pdf

As another Freeper summarized:

"The Cliffs Notes version:

The atmosphere’s density is all that matters for temperature. The composition of the atmosphere doesn’t influence the temperature. There could be no water vapor, or half water vapor, or 1% CO2, or 50% CO2.

The planetary temperature would still be the same and would be based primary on solar activity and how it heats that dense air and how the dense air retains that heat and for how long.

Atmospheric composition would make a big difference to plants and animals but as far as the temperature, weather and climate, it would make no difference at all. Only air pressure matters.

So simple, it is BRILLIANT."

So, at every mention of Greenhouse Gases and CO2 emissions, simply respond PV=nRT. Science.

Well, we had coal fireplaces, coal-burning steam locos for trains, lots of coal-fired stationary engines in factories, coal-burning steamships, never mind piles of horse dung in the streets (the coming of the automobile was regarded as a boon that got rid of that last one) . . . I don’t think he would have liked the air back then.

Bill Nye is literally a Disney character, like Goofy. He worked at Boeing as an engineer and that makes him the world expert on what the weather is going to be like 100,000 years from now although no one can really tell me what the weather will be like tomorrow. Stephen Hawking, the crippled physicist, is another liberal “smart guy,” although in all honesty, he has never accomplished anything, but he makes liberals feel better about themselves. Kind of like the black physicist, I forget his name, who hosted “Cosmos,” who might be able to teach science at a community college, but not very well, I suspect. Me, my science heroes are Isaac Newton and Michael Farraday, to name 2. People who actually contributed to science, and weren’t famous for being pitiful.
