Authorities in Florida say a man hid his wife's body in a freezer so he could continue collecting her Social Security benefits.
The U.S. Attorneys Office says, Margaret Dunn died at her home in Sun City Center, Fla. in 2002 and Allan Dunn placed her body in the freezer. He then collected her Social Security benefits until he died in 2010.
In all, he improperly collected $92,088 in federal Social Security benefits.
According to authorities, upon his death, Mr. Dunns sole asset of value was the condominium unit where he and his wife had resided. His heirs, who were unaware that he had concealed his wifes death, agreed to waive their rights to inherit the condominium and to sell it.

Sounds a lot like Senator Conyers all over again. About 90,000 in illegal cold cash in the freezer.
I believe that was actually Representative Jefferson of Louisiana.
He may have told his heirs that she had passed away but avoided disclosing her final resting place. He could have claimed that she had wanted a private cremation and he obliged her.
Medicare. You pay for it through SS
Why is this just now news? He died in 2010.
He committed suicide in 2010. He had three children who lived in another state. It is unclear how they determined the date of the wife’s death as 2002.

Hey hey. Believe me. Some of us seniors are very healthy.
Yeah i think you are right. As he was evacuating nola.
You do know that a CA congresscritter, in the waning days of Bush43, said something about going after all the IRA money?
So how many times did this dead person vote?
According to the article, his estate was just settled last Friday. While it’s hard to imagine that selling a condo would take so long, that does appear to have been the case.
When did they find the body?
Hope he had a generator over those years, as we get a lot of power outages here.
There’s no indication of that in the article. I’m thinking that it may have been some time ago and the story made the news just because his estate finally got settled.
Yes. The government issued a statement a a hundred websites regurgitated it and all too lazy to provide any original research.
And 7 years after that, we’re hearing about it!
They all steal alike.
“There are probably freezers full all over the United States. Maybe the state of Illinois needs to go door to door looking for cold cash.”
No, in Illinois, the best place to look for money would be in the shoeboxes of politicians.
Too true. There probably was some coverage when her body was discovered but it certainly didn’t make it into this article.
Or as some say, they are all like that.
