Canadian elite special forces sniper makes record-breaking kill shot in Iraq and the distance is astronomical.
Movies and Hollywood have made snipers a folklore and myth that brings fear into the minds of their enemies.
But this sniper shot is 100% real and it is unbelievable to comprehend.
A sniper with Canadas elite special forces has obliterated the world record for the longest confirmed kill shot ever. An other wordly distance of 3,540 meters long. That is 2.19964 miles away. Let your brain think on that one for a little bit. Read the rest of the longest shot story here.
There was some sniper talking about a movie. “Yeah - the head shot with the blood splatter on the wall behind him isn’t accurate - but we couldn’t very well show what really happens. At that distance the bullet is coming almost straight down. The head disintegrates, and the upper torso is torn in half.”
the deflection on the trajectory of the bullet generated by the spinning motion of the earth is negligible at medium distances, but becomes important around 1000yds and beyond, especially because it can add to other minimal errors and keep you off target
when an object flies eastward, in the same direction of earth’s rotation, centrifugal force acts opposite of gravity, pushing it away from the earth’s surface
Figure into that vehicle speed, turret rotational speed and direction, and dont forget CANT and ammo type!
Abrams was dead center every time out to 4K if you paid attention to all the details :)
ROFL! Awesome perspective!
“10 seconds is an eternity in bullet years.”
That’s succinct, pithy, and memorable.
I hope the other jihadis had an “Oh, Shi’ite!” moment when they saw his melon explode into a red mist.
Kind of like an act of God...
Well, maybe a low decibel whistle, just before impact.
Good shot though. Since it was a Canadian sniper, do you think he said "sorry" after dropping the target?
Absolutely! “Sorry, mate, ya had it coming”
