Despite the public pronouncements of CEO Mark Zucker, all is not well at CNN, the fakest news outlet in the fake news universe. Despite Mr. Zucker’s Monday claim that his network is “more trusted than ever”, the cable channel’s ratings are in full tank mode vs. its main competitors at Fox and MSNBC in ratings released on Monday. CNN has just one daily program among the top 20 in that mix, and it comes in at #20. It’s key to remember that those ratings reflect viewership for the week before CNN was forced to pull down and apologize for a fake story alleging collusion between a Trump advisor and Russia, and before Project Veritas released its video showing a senior producer at CNN admitting that the channel fakes the news in a quest for…wait for it…higher ratings! Hey, Jeff, it isn’t working, dude.
Making matters worse for Zucker, White House spokesman Sarah Huckabee Sanders went off on CNN in her daily press briefing, calling the network and other outlets who have been faking the news over the last year “a disgrace to journalism”, among other things. When a gum-chomping reporter for Playboy Magazine interrupted her answer to a question, she called his behavior “outrageous”. Which it was. You go, girl!
But it gets even worse for the beleaguered Mr. Zucker. O’Keefe announced on Twitter yesterday that he has not just one, but several more, even more revealing videos of CNN employees caught in rare moments of honesty, and he plans to trickle them out into the public domain in coming days, perhaps starting today. Quick, somebody get me some popcorn!!!!

I encourage O’Keefe to keep at it but clear-eyed FReepers should also acknowledge that Scaramucci’s high-powered lawyer and very real threat of a massive lawsuit scared the hell out of Zucker and CNN, not least because a) Scaramucci would win and b) it would have disrupted the looming acquisition of Time Warner by AT&T.
Zucker made a cynical, me-first move. If the buyout happened and he stayed, he would be offered a new lucrative contract. If he was forced out, he would get a handsome payoff.
As the hapless producer admitted, it’s strictly about the cash.
After all of this, does AT&T still want CNN? If so, what does that say about AT&T? (AT&T is not well liked in these parts...)

Maybe he gets fired to make sure the deal happens; no payout else no deal. Too bad not likely as executives at his level circle the wagons and protect each other.

Why would someone who has posted on this forum for years imagine that Playboy is somehow any more disgusting or less honest than The New York Times (paper of Walter Duranty and Jason Blair) or The Chicago Tribune (which established and split off Pew Research.)
After all this time do you still not comprehend what those papers are? What they represent? What they advocate?
If Playboy’s presence (as prurient as they are) drags the room in any direction it isn’t down.
I hope O’Keefe has good bodyguards or private security. I can forsee some sort of “accident” in his future if he has an unguarded moment.

Me too. Going after CNN is perilously close to going after the Clintons, which we all know can be extremely hazardous to one’s safety.
He said yesterday he’ll be releasing even more today, not as mild as the one from earlier this week. I think he said around 11:00 am Eastern. Will have to check in about an hour...

CNN is fake alright but I doubt they're the fakest. They're just the one's who caught on camera admitting it. For my money the Washington Post is by far the fakest. They publish pure bs stories every single afternoon that are nothing but lies and innuendo just to get talking head time on the night time cable shows and then in the next day or two those stories get swatted down, they disappear from their site and it's on to the next damnable lie.
