Actually, it is completely related. The whole idea that the Russians somehow influenced the election (and colluded with Trump) originated in the Hillary campaign. I strongly suspect that the reasons for that particular campaign lie have a lot to do with Hillary's desperate attempts to draw attention away from her many wrong-doings--like her compromising classified information on her home server, her collusion with Russia to give them uranium in exchange for personal pay-offs, etc. That campaign lie is the sole reason that these investigations are going on today.
