A recent thread on Reddit shows how the covers of Time Magazine vary around the world. The Asian, South Pacific and European versions are all the same; detailing major world events and uprisings, whilst the American edition has cover stories such as: Why anxiety is good for you, and What makes a school great? And Time is not the only news organization (or publisher) to do this. It seems that those with their hands on the tiller would rather treat Americans like mushrooms: kept in the dark and fed on [bleep]!
A large part of the decision with which type of stories to run will doubtless come from the Editor in Chief, but these people got their position by either setting the trend or by following orders. And they underrate the average American. It is so easy to describe the average American as non-thinking and obsessed with celebrity, but when they are given very few other outlets, it becomes more difficult to escape the trap of knowledge idiocy. Americans are encouraged on a daily basis to revere the opinions of singers and actors, and to assume that these people know better than they do
How else could they be so successful? But it is unfair to say that Americans wouldnt want to know the reality that is being hidden from them.
INDOCTRINATION
Plus, the media can't risk offending the delicate sensitivities of the little snowflakes by presenting the truth.
I know this isn't the point of the article, but if you are physically attractive in America you have a 99% change of being successful. Generally speaking, the more physically attractive you are the more people will shower you with money and favor.
Oh, happens in TV and radio “news” too. We are in a 24/7 “Trash Trump” cycle.
The “media” are the enemy of truth and civil society.
We know this for certain.
“We’ve always been at war with Eastasia, Winston.”....................
The American media deliberately and intentionally suppress things and hide them from the American public.
Same article, different angle of headline.
We’d like to blame the media for all of it, but we can’t. Part of it is the idiocracy that We The People have turned into, by shunning the Lord of care and wisdom. And none of the major secular ism’s is a cure. Conservatism isn’t (ducking the rotten tomatoes). Liberalism isn’t.
And yet if a philosophy isn’t going to bother with God, I suspect that even God would rather it be honest about that (like the atheists of France are) than to wear God as a symbol on its sleeve while shying away from all His paradoxes. A form of religion but lacking its power will get in God’s way worse than a sincere doubt of Him will. He can answer the sincere doubt. He can’t compete with a rival given its head.
This is true from my experience too.
I had a friend from Portugal who came here and she described the huge difference in what she was seeing here vs. how the same thing was reported to her parents back home.
Their media is socialist to the core.
When she first saw a gun here in the USA she freaked out as if it was going to leap up and kill her right there. It took quite some time for her to realize how harmless they were in the hands of non-stupid people... AND for her to get over the fact that no one was going to come barging through the door any moment and arrest us for having one.
The US Edition.
“shower you with favor and money”
Then where is all of my fame and fortune? (wink)
While visiting a friend staying with a Philipino family, they watched al jazeera and it was really interesting seeing what was going on around the world. In depth stories (don’t know what the point of view was) and not hearing the same crap every hour.
Plus I absolutely don’t give a crap about what any actor thinks. If I was talking to them one on one, sure, but it would have the same weight as talking to my neighbor. Maybe less since they are bought [paid for by the public] and ruled by their communist owners.
Maybe Time knows something about what the average American prefers to read.
What is also interesting is the different pictures for the loafer article.
libs - show the shoe
conservatives - Remember your youth
I think it’s sad that Al-Jazeera is a better news outlet than anything in the US. Our MSM is worse than Pravda at this point.
Modern American "news" reporting from Big Media will never have any such beneficial effect.
