The Saudis treated President Trump like royalty, with red carpets, lavish meals and American flags flying everywhere. They repeatedly used the word “Historic” to describe his visit.
The greeting was in stark contrast to Obama. Obama was seen as a Globalist-endorsing effeminate shill of the Shia Muslim-Brotherhood.

Here a link to a WaPo post, trying to say that Trump mocked Obama for bowing to the King of Saudi Arabia, and then he did the same.
Trump is clearly 6” taller than the King and receiving an honorary medal from him.

Boy! You aren’t kidding about that “trying” part! That’s unintentional journalistic comedy at its finest! In the linked article is an embedded video of Trump CLEARLY squatting down, and tilting his head forward to accommodate the ‘height challenged’ man trying to loop the medal over Trump’s head. The author of this perfect example of Fake News, Avi Selk, was wise to NOT include any video, or even a photo, of Obama’s historic BOW to the Saudis for comparison. To do so would have exposed that his whole arguement is clearly a blatant lie; Fake News.
It’s no surprise that the Compost would try to foist this BS upon its readers, it’s something they’re compelled to do. They know it’s a hard sell, so they give the assignment to a low ranking ‘journalist’ to avoid tarnishing the career of someone they believe is seen as credible. Here’s what the Compost has to say this particular employee of theirs:

I remember Obama making excuses for bowing and saying he never bowed. He said he had to stoop down to reach the King’s hand. BS. The king has his hand chest high, Obama grabs it, and bows deeply after grabbing it. That one act showed the Arab world he is a wimp and walked all over him.

I read the book 25-30 years ago, and remembered the line and have been using it post-9/11.

That is great - I would have looked it up one day and forgotten it by the next but I’m sure you’re not as “aged” as I am...I really enjoyed the book...
Sometimes lines or passages in a book really make an impression on me, and that was one of them. It explained a lot of cultural issues regarding Islamic Arabs that I’d not understood. I’d read a lot of modern military history of Israel and the Arab wars before that, but those really didn’t give me proper cultural insights.
Changing subjects entirely, go see the 2-paragraph Hayek quote on my profile page. I think it’s the 3rd one down. It made a huge impression on me as well, really made a light bulb go off, on the similarity of the Nazi/Fascist/Communist totalitarian systems.
