I guess the lefties are going to have to find another country to trot out as an example of modern, tolerant Islam.
And in the United States, one can be fired for talking like a Christian... or using Jesus’s name with reverence with the ‘wrong’ person hearing it... or having a Bible at work... and one day, if the liberals keep it up, you will be put in prison for offending their “religion”... and it doesn’t take much... they consider being an infidel a sin against their “religion”. you either convert or they are ordered to kill.
The most disturbing thing about this is — Ahok ( the nick name of the Christian governor who was jailed ):
1) Was the governor of Jakarta, Indonesia’s LARGEST city.
2) Was the friend and ally of the Indonesian President.
3) Was jailed for 2 years ( a harsher sentence than what the prosecution requested, which was a light suspended sentence ).
If such a prominent and well known person can be brought down and humiliated this way, what will happen to normal Indonesian citizens who say something the religious authorities consider blasphemous?
And note this — Indonesia is considered one of the most moderate and relatively tolerant Muslim countries in the world.
This does not bode well.
I know when something I revere is disrespected, it makes me want to go outside and riot, burn a few things, maybe overturn some cars. How about you?
