Stays of removal are frequently issued to aliens otherwise slated for deportation when members of Congress introduce private bills to individually grant those aliens permanent legal status. While these bills rarely come to a vote and are even more rarely passed, ICE previously granted aliens stays of removal as a matter of course, while the bills are formally under consideration a policy that can allow otherwise removable persons to remain in the United States for months if not years. ...

"From now on, stays of removal will only be issued when specially requested by the chairs the House and Senate Judiciary Committees or the relevant subcommittees. In the current Congress, all these posts are held by Republicans."

In the current Congress, all these posts are held by Republicans.”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
That does not mean much.
No elected official should be protecting illegal aliens from our laws, including President Trump.
The illegal DACA program must end.
True, most Republicans are no better than dems. But just the fact that ICE is changing business as usual is a good sign
We say a "Big Thank You" and I just think that these bonehead Congress Critters don't get it on Illegal Alien Immigration. We r sick and tired of Illegal Aliens coming into our country period. We really would not be surprised if we have around 35 Million to 40 Million Illegal Alines in this country right now.
The illegal DACA program must end. No one here disagrees with that, but at this point, your message is just spam.
Spend 41 cents a day, and put it in a letter to the President. You might actually get somewhere.
Considering that they were telling us it was 11 million 20 years ago and there have been at least a million a year since then, it has to be at least 30 million.
Plenty of people disagree and there is plenty of spam here on other topics. That's a mighty weak justification for spamming the board with the same message for months on end.
Harranguing your fellow Freepers about the DACA issue isn't going to change a thing, but it will cause most of them to tune you out.
You could communicate your message to the President once a day, for a tenth of the effort you expend here. You might even make a real difference.
Probably more impact with a post here than a snail mail to the WH.
Probably more impact with a post here than a snail mail to the WH. We Freepers can't end DACA. Only the President can do that. Gotta talk to someone who can actually change it, if you want it done.
Social media is a multiplier in a way that snail mail is not.
Social media is a multiplier in a way that snail mail is not. I'm not arguing that, but the poster is doing a terrible job of harnessing that power, if indeed that is their intent.
If the poster intends to start a wave, they need to do it via a personal blog or other cyber medium, in order to gain traction. Making incessant nagging comments to threads on FR will produce exactly zero results, but it will annoy their fellow Freepers.
