Fascism
You are no longer allowed to believe in God. Or at least, you are no longer allowed to believe that God did anything the Bible says He did. If you do believe these things, you cannot get a job in Washington if the powers that be can possibly stop you.
Just ask Mark Green. An Iraq War veteran and evangelical Christian nominated by President Trump to be Secretary of the Army, Green regrettably withdrew late last week because he had supposedly become too controversial.
If you can’t take the heat, stay out of the kitchen. If you can’t run with the big dogs, stay on the porch.
Very disappointing.
Why not just do away with civilians heading the armed services. The Joint Chiefs could administer with the blessings of SECDEF. Would save some coin and eliminate some of the machinery that leads to mischief.
And not a public word of support from the Trump administration. Shame.
Ditto for all media workers, professors, teachers, CEO's and Democrats.
Well, it was Green’s decision on whether or not to withdraw.
Yeah, are we going to hear the excuse from We The People that we chucked Trump over the transom and that he better be a one guy Superman?
Are we?
Are we?
Every damn day.
You don't think the White House had a hand in the withdrawal?
Truthfully, he failed because he could not keep his mouth shut, and said what he really thought. This matters far more than what he cannot keep his mouth shut about.
In the Army, the highest rank that truly commands soldiers is Colonel, and even that is not entirely true. The NCO chain of command are the real leaders. Even a 1st Lieutenant Platoon Leader spends only half his time leading, the other half coordinating with his Company Commander and other officers.
And this is true all the way up the chain until O-6, full Colonel. When a Colonel makes the big jump to O-7, Brigadier General, they only lead Colonels, not soldiers. They spend the rest of their time hobnobbing with politicians and civilians. To even greet soldiers at a distance is a real treat to them.
Two great examples of this.
One of the most successful of the Czarist Admirals was a man whose speech was so garbled that nobody could understand what he was saying. Thus when a superior caught him out, or a subordinate fouled up, he could, and did claim that he was misheard.
General Alexander Haig was renowned in Washington as a man who could speak or testify for hours and not say *anything* of substance. Some of his more interesting quotes:
“at this juncture of maturization” (”now”)
Terrorism can be fought with “meaningful sanctionary teeth.”
Intermediate nuclear missiles are “at the vortex of cruciality.”
“We must push this to a lower decibel of public fixation. I don’t think there’s much of a learning curve to be achieved in this area of content.”
In other words, he spouted endless gobbledygook that most people might think they understood, but don’t. This is actually a desirable trait, especially when talking to your enemies, or your political enemies.+
