Their timidity on Obamacare repeal has made them a national laughingstock.
"....Yet the party that ended slavery and successfully championed womens suffrage, both in the face of violent Democratic opposition, cant muster the courage to repeal even the worst provisions of the Affordable Care Act. This cowardice has now inspired the laws apologists to openly mock the GOP and President Trump."

The original demand was the repeal of Obamacare.
The moment it shifted to “repeal and replace”, the fix was in.
On that we both agree.
“They do NOT want it gone.”
BINGO!!
“”I thought we campaigned on repealing it,” the lawmaker continued. “Now that it’s our turn, I’m finding there’s about 50 people who really don’t want to repeal Obamacare. They want to keep it.”
Other conservatives are saying similar things. In an email exchange Thursday afternoon, I asked one member where the latest bill stood. “We absolutely do not have the votes to repeal it,” he answered. “The fact that some members are balking at even allowing states to waive out of some of Obamacare regulations is proof positive. We’ve gone from ‘repeal it root-and-branch’ to ‘Mother-may-I opt out of some of Obamacare’ and we still are having trouble getting the votes.”
In a phone conversation Thursday afternoon, another Republican, Rep. Steve King, quibbled a bit with the number of House Republicans who don’t want to repeal Obamacare he would put it in the 40s but felt certain there are lots of Republicans who don’t want to repeal. “If you don’t want to get rid of federal mandates to health insurance, then it’s pretty clear you don’t want to get rid of Obamacare,” King said.”
In my eyes, Obamacare basically did ONE thing:
It FORCED every American to purchase health INSURANCE.
Not healthCARE; but INSURANCE.
And every year, we have to PROVE to the government that we have it - or else we PAY a FINE.
Obamacare also conveniently set up government healthcare INSURANCE exchanges where, oh... people could go to BUY it from...
So it we change the product from healthcare INSURANCE to ice cream:
You MUST buy ice cream and if your employer doesn’t provide the way for you to buy it through them, you buy it from the government.
Those unable to prove they bought this years ice cream are FINED - moreso every year..
This is MAFIA procedure. Any elected politician who doesn’t see a MAJOR problem with this is a CROOK who should be in prison, not sitting in government under the guise of working for the people.

Daniel Webster.
R-FL
Thanks for asking.

No one wants the job. Ryan himself especially didn’t want the job.

Looks like a good choice!!
“No one wants the job. Ryan himself especially didnt want the job.”
Oh of course he didn’t. What a sacrifice he made. /sarc off
If he didn’t want it then he should then resign shouldn’t he?
Only the voter can drain the swamp VOTE on every election.
“No one wants the job.”
Orrrr maybe others were told to back off or they may not see any funding for their re-election campaign or other such disincentives to run.
“Hours after 24 Republicans voted against Boehner, GOP leaders removed two members from a key committee. By late Tuesday, Reps. Daniel Webster and Richard Nugent, both of Florida, were stripped from the powerful House Rules Committee, which governs the legislative process, including amendments and changes to bills before they reach the House floor for debate.”

“Only the voter can drain the swamp VOTE on every election”
So true. Except for POTUS it seems now that gop primaries are more important than the general election. Unfortunately it seems most gop voters don’t see it that way yet. Note McCain somehow again winning his primary against a good candidate in Kelli Ward even though so many republicans. in AZ seem to be upset with him.
Hopefully that will change now.
Destroy the GOP. Cut off all funding. Start a new conservative party. Don’t allow the old GOPe traitors in.
Sure, but we keep voting for them. What's that say about us?
“Nutless, sackless, backboneless, brainless.
Sure, but we keep voting for them. What’s that say about us?”
Part of the problem is the gop-e suppresses any legitimate challengers. No matter how bad the gop-e is a majority of people won’t just vote for any name they aren’t familiar with over whom they know, at least enough of the time to matter.
...not to mention all the ‘regulations’ and ‘provisions’ that made it VERY hard for NON-GOVERNMENT healthcare insurance providers to maintain business...
Oh my! - I GUESS we just HAVE to buy it from... THE GOVERNMENT!
We are a SICK nation -that half of our population WANTS this oppression shackled to each of us...
Absolutely sick.
Does not have to be an elected member of Congress. Someone like Newt perhaps. At least he’s an adult.
And the other House members are going to elect an outsider Speaker? Sure.
My favorite on this:
And bought.
