Obamacare and the Gutless Wonders of the GOP
American Spectator ^ | 05/01/2017 | David Catron

Posted on 05/01/2017 6:44:43 AM PDT by ctpsb

Their timidity on Obamacare repeal has made them a national laughingstock.

"....Yet the party that ended slavery and successfully championed women’s suffrage, both in the face of violent Democratic opposition, can’t muster the courage to repeal even the worst provisions of the Affordable Care Act. This cowardice has now inspired the law’s apologists to openly mock the GOP and President Trump."

Apparently nothing much is going to change unless the gutless wonders are voted out of office

The centerpieces of Trump’s campaign, as I understood it, was to repeal Obamacare, build the wall, and stop jihadis from entering the US.

GOP is slow-walking all of this. GOP has become the enemy.

Trump better do something, soon and dramatic.

Otherwise it will be on him.

No Obamacare repeal and no wall will equal no House GOP majority in 2018. Maybe that is what the GOP wants anyway. They like the back seat where they can talk tough and do nothing. Ryan is Trump’s and the GOP base’s enemy; yet Trump continues to praise him. Ryan needs to be made to find another career immediately.

I’ll wait until the end of September.

If Tax Reform, Obamacare Repeal & Replace, Defunding of Planned Parenthood, Funding of The Wall, and the EPA and Sanctuary Cities are dealt with I’ll abandon ship and declare the American Republic dead.

The clock is ticking.....

If nothing else Trump’s election has once and for all (as if Chris McDaniel’s primary in MS didn’t already demonstrate this) is the gop’s inclusion in the uniparty and it needs to be cleaned out as much as the democrats and media.

The current bill has zero chance of becoming law, because it is incompatible with the requirements for passage via reconciliation, which is the only way it’s going to pass.

There was ONE chance.

The Freedom Caucus and most FR posters, and much of the so-called Conservative media blew it up, out of sheer reactive stupidity.

Mark Meadows must pay for this in 2018.

The senate parliamentarian implied the Speaker may have misunderstood the rules of reconciliation and indicated he could have had much more leeway with the first version.

Of greatest concern she stated the Speaker never consulted with her, which indicates his agenda was more important than the facts.

Speaker Ryan must go.

They're not gutless, they're CORRUPT as democrats.

Obamacare hands a profitable industry over to the government to control; or, that is the end game...

It doesn't matter to a corrupt Republican; they gain just as much as the democrats do with Obamacare.

They do NOT want it gone. Politicians these days strive to get elected in order to:
1. Make a lot of easy money
2. Set themselves up for nice living for the rest of their life.
3. Make laws that shore up their security in these pursuits.
4. Make laws to keep the population handcuffed so we don't jeopardize their security, wealth harvesting and power.

Defunding Planned Parenthood is not something I’m willing to wait on. That’s 100,000 dead American babies between now and September.

Trump was praised for acting decisively when he saw the suffering of Syrian children. Why should American children be denied the same decisive action? He needs to veto this bill now.

The GOP has been the enemy - they are just coming out of the closet by making it obvious to all.

BULL. Stop misleading. It was FR posters like you who prevented a conservative repeal from happening.

There are ways of repealing at least most of this bill the GOP simply doesn’t want to. When Scott Brown took away the filibuster-proof dem majority the dems found a way to pass ocare thru reconciliation. If there’s a will there’s a way. Gimme a break on the Freedom Caucus. You don’t pass obamacare-lite to say you repeal something. But nice try.

Byron York: Why can’t House repeal Obamacare? Because a lot of Republicans don’t want to

“”I thought we campaigned on repealing it,” the lawmaker continued. “Now that it’s our turn, I’m finding there’s about 50 people who really don’t want to repeal Obamacare. They want to keep it.”

Don’t play that game. Doesn’t matter. It just can’t be Ryan. Oh what would happen if Ryan wasn’t Speaker -— nothing would get done?
