President Trump is tweeting again, showing he is two steps ahead of North Korea. He knows exactly what he is doing, and he has his strategy neatly in place. You have to connect China to North Korea, as China has the power to make or break North Korea. During this fragile time China needs an incentive to reign in the out of control Lil Kim. He is not only out of control now, he has never been in control of his senses. He is a nuclear war waiting to happen.
President Donald Trump said in a note on Twitter on Tuesday that he told China's President Xi Jinping that Beijing would get a better trade deal with Washington if it helped solve the U.S. problem with North Korea. That is definitely the winning strategy in dealing with China: trade deals!
"I explained to the president of China that a trade deal with the U.S. will be far better for them if they solve the North Korean problem!" Trump, who held talks with Xi in Florida last week, wrote on Twitter. "North Korea is looking for trouble. If China decides to help, that would be great. If not, we will solve the problem without them!" he added in a second note.

I never realized how small South Korea is. It’s only about the size of Tennessee. (Wikipedia) It’s only 594 miles from Beijing to Seoul. 157 miles gets you from Pyongyang to Seoul. Defending that piece of real estate would get real problematic if war broke out.
I can’t believe the pearl clutchers. It’s unbecoming of a freeper.
China has everything to gain with the removal of their nutcase neighbor and his regime and have probably been waiting for us to take them out for years.........
If that’s the case and Chine benefits by solving our problem, what’s to stop them from stirring up trouble again to extract more promises from us? Doesn’t sound like a winning strategy to me.
Please. . We’ve always carrier battle groups cross the 38th parallel. The ball is in Kim’s court
Seriously
I suspect we already have and that's why they have been moving their troops to the border.......
There's no reason for China to to side with NK by lining the border with military since all our work is going to be coming from the air.
“Maybe Trump is sacrificing a carrier group to start this war.”
Maybe fairies will be released by the carrier group & carry the Nork leader to a magical dungeon where he will stay for all eternity.
Makes as much sense.
We are not sacrificing any carrier group, the Norks can’t touch the USN. (excepting an unarmed reconnaissance ship that was operating without protection 50 yrs ago)
Let them try and they will get a thrashing they won’t believe.
I agree, but we really don`t know exactly what Trump meant when he talked of giving China a better trade deal. I seriously doubt that Trump is giving up his commitment to address the trade imbalances and the unfair trade policies of the Chinese regime.
The simple solution is for President Trump to let China know that if the Norks launch a nuke - even if it’s an unsuccessful attempt - we’ll hit Beijing in response, with the option of hitting Pyongyang as well.
China is North Korea’s ‘handler’ and enabler, so China will bear the brunt of the consequences of North Korea’s insanity.
Once that’s recognized we should see Kim’s hand getting slapped by Xi and they’ll keep him on a tight leash.
DUers? - If so, they’ll soon be outta FR. I used to go
over and visit DU about once a year; but the vocabulary at
DU was/is? abysmal. “F” this and “F” that, and repeat!
Supposed to be bigshot college grads with all sorts of
degrees; but “F” word is all they can spell. :o(
Since no deal has been defined, there is no point of reference and therefore no basis of comparison of a better or worse deal.
What sacrifice? A carrier group is the equivalent of a military base.
You REIN in power-mad dictators who REIGN through terror and ignorance.
Awesome.
How is the CV group going to be sacrificed? By what means?
“China must realize that if this unstable regime continues, it is only a matter of time until he threatens Beijing itself. Beijing is a whole lot closer than Tokyo ...”
Beijing is 600 miles from Seoul . Tokyo is 717 miles . Not a heck of a lot of difference .
