The wall along the Mexican border doesnt have to be made of boring concrete slabs.
It might be a smart wall filed with fiber optic cables designed to detect anyone trying to climb over or tunnel underneath it. Or it could resemble a medieval castle, with a notched top and turrets. It could be made of solar panels, or even be a work of art.
These are among the ideas submitted to the Department of Homeland Security, which is considering bids to build a barrier of some kind between Mexico and the United States.
This round of bids is actually to build a prototype for a wall, the first step in President Donald Trumps much repeated promise to build a border wall....

Just get started.
That is my point. Just build.
I would like to see it where some sections are steel bars or concrete columns going deep in the ground where small animals can travel back and forth. I just want to make sure we have a good wildlife habitat too.
Whatever wildlife there is has habitat on both sides. It will make no difference there will just be a wall dividing the territories. It will just divide the populations not destroy their habitats.
George W. Bush spent $1 billion on a virtual wall instead of a physical wall. It failed miserably.

Human beings have thousands of years of experience constructing barriers to restrict the movement of other humans. Spending more time studying concepts is a delaying tactic. If construction isn’t underway in 6 months or less, the wall will never be built. GOP congress critters are not going allow the wall to be an issue during the 2018 campaign. Mexico is not going to build or pay for the wall. If Congress doesn’t appropriate money to construct the wall this year when it votes on the 2018 budget, there will be no wall.
The solar wall ideas just look like a solar panel supply for Mexico.

That does look the best so far. I do like the idea of solar panels to defray the cost, maybe they could add them.
No matter what they decide, add a moat and hungry alligators. The water will be provided by the tears of Our Enemies, the Socialist Democrat Party.
Yep. I’m kinda mean that way. Come on, Mr. President! We’re nearly 80 days in and I have YET to see one head on a pike on the White House Lawn. Git Bizzy!

“I just want to make sure we have a good wildlife habitat too.”
Prolly the only way to ensure wildlife can continue to cross the border in key areas with proven migration routes, is to initially have gaps in the wall, perhaps 50-100 feet wide, where border agents would have to be present 24/7, as well as wildlife biologists to study IF any animals even use the crossing. If certain animals are not using the opening, or in sufficient enough numbers, then that opening can be closed with the same sort of wall that’s built in that area.
need machine gun turrets
build the wall NOW.
That sounds like a great idea. I'd like to see it married with a few of the best other ideas to create a state-of-the-art barrier!
Build it like Hadrians wall with troop emplacements every few miles. Out of super hard East German concrete.

I was thinking more of the Great Wall of Trump.
A six lane expressway with exits and entrances
only on the American side with rest stops and
observation platforms every so many miles
and 40 feet high with a good overhang on the
south side.
Art, hyperloops? You can tell libs are trying to screw things up already. Gun turrets, a double wall with mine field between, super tall, super hard, extending down to bedrock, no hand holds, no cracks, barb wire everywhere, etc., that’s the sort of proposal that should win. Tell the libs to take a hike.
I don’t believe all that crapola. I’ve seen how incompetently they have counted species around here. The only problem I see is the jaguarondi, its habitat is in Mexico although occasionally one will stray north. They would need to be captured and deported, pun intended.
