I don’t hear anyone discussing this now, but I remember well how unusual it was for a lame duck President at the end of his term to nominate a Supreme Court justice. Most thought Obama was trying to pull a fast one with that Garland nomination because past Presidents in that position knew it was in the best interest of the country to let the people decide which party would make the nomination based on who won the election. Now, the Republicans are accused of stealing the nomination from Garland. Even Cher tweeted about how they should move on from mentioning that. Imagine, Cher is sick of it, too.
