Given the apprehension and suspension of the notorious playground menace Caitlin Miller for committing random acts of make-believe at her Hoke County, North Carolina school, I recently felt compelled to do a soft-target search of our home. Suspecting that our house was riddled with the same type of weapons that got five-year-old Caitlin in such trouble, I wanted to make sure that the minor residents with whom I share this home would not find themselves in the same situation as little Miss Miller.
Alas, the search of our homethat was cleverly dubbed Operation Slow and Curioushad shocking results.

Wouldn’t be sarcasm to many
Funny things is 4 trillion people get shot in the average cop/spy/detective action movie. :)
I plan to be a corrupting influence on my grandson by bringing out my Marx Fort Apache, Civil War, Dodge City, and Alamo sets that I have saved for over 60 years. He will have to learn to play by my rules, which are quite specific about whether a figure is dead or wounded and where the gun or bow and arrow actually point.
You saved it 60 years? That rocks :)
The oldest thing i own from my past is a five year old T shirt :)
I have no sympathy for the parents. They stuck their child in public school. By now they know what that entails. Putting your child in public school is prima facie child abuse almost as bad as selling the child to child traffickers.
Ha! Sounds about right!
“Cowboys and Indians?!” I imagine even a mention of such would yield a suspension from the govt schools!
One of my grandson’s favorite toys is a cork & string pop gun he got 2 years ago from his mom’s sister. He also likes the sets of 2-3/4” high army soldiers, cowboys and indians, knights and vikings and other items to stimulate the imagination of a 6 year old boy.
Just imagine setting up a multiple army battle on the living room floor. Cowboys and indians vs. space aliens and zombies. And, by the way, the smurf army always loses.
Jeez, a kid being suspended for pretending a stick is a gun? My God...Morons running schools...
I love to make the response when appropriate that I lost all interest in Disney Land when they no longer let me shot the Indians at Fort Apache.
