90% of the problems with ACA stems from the pre-existing coverage provision. So anyone who wants to keep that wants ACA, they just want tpo make a few cosmetic changes. They also don't understand how insurance works. Before ACA there was chairy care, but it wasn't considered insurance, because that is not how insurance works. Basically, you are saying you want a system that punishes the healthy and leaves them without coverage.
That is so much the point about Obamacare.
It stole actual coverage from the healthy to get money for the very ill which is unworkable since it leaves the healthy paying for nothing of value to them. Then it left everyone vulnerable to being wiped out by a moderate healthcare crisis because of the high deductible & copay. Ergo they had no insurance or access to healthcare only the illusion.
Obamacare was a complete distortion of the premise of insurance. The insurance companies made sure they weren’t the losers but the people were setup & fleeced.
I’m not saying anything about what I want, I’m saying even many conservatives won’t repeal preexisting coverage, and therefore we cannot get total repeal now, it is impossible.
I would favor free market and then medicaid only for those who truly cannot afford insurance or health care, meaning that if you fail to buy insurance you risk losing everything if you get really sick. Because without that risk you have to force people to buy insurance, or insurance will cost a fortune.
The problem is free market and guaranteed coverage for preexisting illness do not work together.
