For those keeping score at home, heres a recap of where the Washington healthcare debacle currently stands:
And Americans get screwed. In other words, typical Washington.
There is a better way, however. And it is being pushed by the very guy who stated repeatedly throughout the primaries that he actually had a plan for ending the Obamacare nightmare: Ted Cruz.
I gladly admit that I am not a policy wonk. But all that is needed is a modicum of common sense to recognize that many of the problems Obama highlighted in pushing Obamacare are indeed real problems.
It is not right that your co-worker with employee-based insurance, who develops cancer, loses his job because of a recession thus losing his insurance, and then is not able to buy health insurance on the open market because of his pre-existing condition. Thats absurd and wrong.
The Obama solution was to force insurance companies to accept anyone with a pre-existing condition. Obviously this is not going to work because people wont buy insurance until they get sick and need someone else to pay their expensive bills. So to solve that dilemma, Obama ordered that all people buy health insurance whether they want it or not. Forcing people to buy it ostensibly allows insurance companies to make the money they need to cover all these pre-existing condition patients.
Its heavy-handed government planning and despite its good intentions, its not working. So heres the Cruz idea in a nutshell:
What does matter is the American people deserve a better healthcare system, Washington seems content with letting them suffer with the one weve been given, and Cruz is offering a great idea that deserves support.
Forget your partisanship, forget your frustrations, forget your allegiances and political alliances, and think about your family. This is too important a moment to let pass by.
Cruz did not win the election.
I believe this sort of *** is why.
Nope. I voted for Trump. Not Cruz.
Repeal ACA and let the market work.
Sounds remarkably like the plan that Rand Paul, an actual doctor that has had to deal with the nightmare of o’care, has put forward and has put forward for years.
That sounds like the right way to do it. Add tort reform and this would be the lion’s share of getting us back to a free market health care industry.
What they need to do is punt the issue to the States/People and remind everyone that the federal government is broke and that very dime of revenue until FY2023 or later is slated for debt service. The 10th Amendment spells this out well and the National Debt enforces that the Feds can’t pay for health care.
Sounds like a good simple plan to me, for any one stuck on stupid I only have one president and that would be President Donald Trump.
The Uniparty eunuchs serve as attendants of Fedzilla.
Repealing Obamacare would reduce Fedzilla’s power and they will never do that.
All of the agencies created by Obamacare are what they are trying to preserve, along with the power of controlling all health care decisions and medical records.
Secondly, IF you get fired, there's COBRA!
If you can't afford to pay...there's NO hospital that will turn you away.
Insurance companies are NOT "charities", are in it to make money!
The crapsandwich things that were listed, are either irrational, stupid, unworkable, or just ridiculous.
An open, across states marketplace is a good idea.
People buying their own insurance, when not having employer insurance is what it used to be.
Switzerland has a great syste from what I understand. From Wikipedia:
“There are no free state-provided health services, but private health insurance is compulsory for all persons residing in Switzerland (within three months of taking up residence or being born in the country)”.
“The whole healthcare system is geared toward the general goals of keeping the system competitive across cantonal lines, promoting general public health and reducing costs while encouraging individual responsibility.”
Definitely why I supported Cruz.
These are great ideas to bring to the new table. No subsidies— no mandates— free markets or go to the ER.Preexisting conditions go to high risk pool that is purchased by the sick person.NOT ME!! It is not fair to make me pay for YOU!! or You pay for me!! pay for yourself!! Wer are not a communist nation. If you want mandated insurance— GO TO RUSSIA!!
Call it whatever you like but it makes sense.
The Ryan bill that Trump supported was a monumental piece of crap and most well informed conservatives know that. I voted for And support Trump too but I’m not going to back something that stinks on ice just because he’s pushing it.
That’s more what the mindless left tend to do.
“Switzerland has a great syste from what I understand.”
They don’t have 11 million illegals to take care of.
If not tied to employer, what does that do about group rates.
These Obamcare repeal snake oil jobs are hilarious. Rand is the same: “Just give me 30 minutes with POTUS. Etc.” Only the most deluded Paulistians and Cruzlims believe these beltway kabuki fairy tales. LOL.

LOL. I'd rather just have leeches treat me and bleed out like in the Medieval era.
Do you know how expensive and shi--y COBRA is?
