Don't let this happen to you!
There are some really short guns in the world, and when you grab one with both hands, there is often a tendency to hold the gun farther forward than you should.
In this short video, Hickock45 gives some good advice about shooting short barrel guns, as he demonstrates with a sawed-off 12 gauge shotgun.
The cloud of meat (hot dog) spraying away from the muzzle could have been part of his finger, had he been less wise.
Even for those of us who know better, this is a good graphic reminder of what not to do.
Let's be careful out there and have fun while being safety minded. See the short barrel shotgun video here.
Never shoulder a short barrel shot gun. Anchor the sucker on your hip with two hands one on the grip and the pother on the
back barrel.Wear thin leather gloves.
Oh, but you won't blow your left hand off because you're special in some way? Okay, maybe so but guess what your stupid BIL is gonna do right there in front of you when you let him shoot it, and guess whose fault it's gonna be?
18" minimum. No muss no fuss, no federal fee.
now he has to say, “Hold my beer”, for everything he wants to do...
Also somewhat dangerous is holding a revolver the wrong way. As a kid I fired a 44 mag and with my left hand holding the revolver between the cylinder and barrel simply because it was so heavy. When fired hot gasses came out through the small air gap between the cylinder and barrel.
Some minor burns and gun powder stains resulted.
Never again.
Sawing off your shotgun is kinda like goofing off with a hand grenade. Its fun and exciting at first but.......
