Mark Zuckerberg The Billionaire Tech Mogul Visits The Scene Of The Charleston Church Massacre

On June 17, 2015 during a prayer service, was when the Charleston church massacre took place. This was a mass shooting and hate crime that at the Emanuel African Methodist Episcopal Church in downtown Charleston, South Carolina, US. The shooting lead to the death of nine people who were killed by 21-year-old white supremacist, Dylann Roof. Although three other victims survived but Roof was sentenced to Death in January 2017.

And now billionaire Tech Mogul, Mark Zuckerberg, has paid a visit to the church on Sunday and also decided to shared his experience:

“I’m in Charleston, South Carolina and I spent the morning at Mother Emanuel — the oldest African Methodist Episcopal church in the South. This community is a symbol of resilience. In 2015, a white supremacist walked into bible study and murdered nine of its black members, including its pastor. The community experienced a level of grief beyond what I can imagine, and they are still working through it. Yet in the face of such hate and tragedy, the victims’ families forgave the murderer and treated him with compassion. While many cities might erupt with racial tension after murders like these, the Mother Emanuel community, with a tradition of fighting injustice, led the city in setting a tone of calm for the whole nation. As one white resident of Charleston told me: “the ones we should be apologizing to are forgiving us.” “In our goal to build stronger communities, we have a lot to learn from Charleston and Mother Emanuel. At dinner with the reverend, rabbi, police chief, mayors, and heads of local non-profits last night, they told me one reason the community got through this is they’ve been building strong bonds for years. The mayor said that you can’t wait until a crisis to build community; you need strong community in place when a crisis hits. “The police chief described how his department has been running a summer camp to help kids and police officers get to know each other for a decade. They build trust so that when there’s an emergency or when kids need help, they don’t see each other as the enemy. “There are inspiring stories like this all over Charleston. One woman I met was so committed to integrating the community that she worked overtime as a waitress to raise funds for a social justice program she founded to help people coming out of prison find jobs and become full members of the community again. “The community still has issues. In my day here, I also heard stories about how a family with white children and an adopted black child always seems to have its black child pulled over for having a tail light out, even though all the kids share the same car. And many people told me Charleston culture values civility so highly that some issues just go unspoken. But overall, this is clearly a city that is committed to building a strong community and that has succeeded. “I am deeply grateful to Reverend Eric S.C. Manning and the Mother Emanuel family for welcoming me into your community. As the reverend said in his sermon this morning: “I will lift up my eyes to the hills, even though my heart may be heavy.” I hope more communities lift up their eyes to see what you have built. It will help them when their hearts are heavy, and it will help us all build stronger communities around the world.”

I think he’s going to start forming his own cult. Give it time; he already wants to move his employees and their families into a large self created residential compound. I am certain the guy is already planning his hymns to be sung in praise of him and of course, he will easily start getting recipes for an effective poison once the US government starts getting interested in rescuing people from his craziness. Of course, there is the torture chamber for ‘problem employees’ and those who try to leave or connect with the outside world.

He manages to get it all wrong. There is no ‘cracking’ into the Chinese market. The Chinese will not negotiate and they can see right through his actions and intentions. Trying to gain their respect and admiration through grovelling is the exact opposite of what he should be doing.

I think he’s going to start forming his own cult.

First I do think he will run for president. He saw what President Trump did, thinks it was easy, and will try to put "President" on his resume. He will fail as badly ad Jeb Bush though. At that point, I do see him becoming more George Soros like, trying to run things from behind the scenes.

Zuckerberg, like most liberals, don’t want to live anywhere near blacks, only uses them as props in their never ending virtue signaling.

Given his vast fan base from Facebook, I think he’s going to end up likely winning. The principle of this country is that ANY man has the right to run and Trump has broken the culturally enforced monopoly that the Dems and Republicans have had on candidacies for so long. We’ll see a more diverse range of candidates from numerous parties from here on out.

Agree, he’s running.

This is the kind of visit you make when you have presidential aspirations.

Testing the demographic waters, IMO.

did he go to the scene of the Fort Hood massacre?

Of course not, he wants to be the King of some people.

I don't think he has the base that he thinks he has. His biggest supporters are stockholders, who will not enjoy him neglecting Facebook.

Most Americans don't like him very much. He is not viewed in the same way Steve Jobs was, as an innovator.

I think what he has done is innovative; people around the world are able to communicate with each other without having to run up a massive phone bill or write letters or even emails. Instant chat and it is about how you use it. It is fun. Just because he isn’t likeable doesn’t mean that he isn’t smart or that he hasn’t broken new ground. Facebook has lasted as long as it has for a reason and there are always new people signing up. He shouldn’t be looked down on just because he isn’t likeable.

As I recall there were several social networks which predated Facebook. Is Facebook really more innovative than mySpace was?

I never had a MySpace account (thankfully) and frankly I believe that he put together something that has worked ten times better.
