“Anything, and I mean anything that is striker fired...including Glock...is crap.”

I’ve put literally thousands of rounds through my XD and XDS pistols with only one FTE or FTF and those were both ammo related. That’s hardly “crap” performance.

My Kimber pistols are twitchier about ammo. Not that I don’t love them.

If I knew for sure I would be attending a pistol fight I’d grab my XD. No question about it.

Best,

L

Excuse the awkward sentence. I added the “in 9mm” at the last minute and should have put it in parentheses.

I was asking Mariner (or others wishing to comment), if they always prefer hammer fired, what is their preference for a 9mm pistol with a 5” nominal barrel?

Oh,ok. I just had a molar extracted and thought, either I’m missing something or they took part of my brain with the tooth. No problem.

Looks like they ripped off the slide and trigger from Glock

Glock has a trigger safety?

The 19 with a few minor mods can’t be beat for open carry functionality. You can have 2 or 3 for the price of the high priced spread.

Beretta 92fs

5.5in barrel adds 150fps to every round compared to 4in barrel.

And longer sight radius too.

But don’t be thinking ANY pistol is a long range, or high-powered weapon. They are only to be used as an absolute last resort.

I'll keep my 92's and 96, thank you.

My 92 compact in 40S&W has truly never had a failure of any kind in well over 4000 rounds. Most reliable semi-auto I have ever owned. Still going on the original recoil spring as well....

Can't say that about my Glocks, except for my G27, which is closely following the Berretta.

Glocks are a dime a dozen and appeal to the ordinary, Chevrolet mass-consumer market.

I'll take a dozen then. And I am a Ford mass-consumer market.

Agreed. I've had all the high end stuff, and I was shooting 4000+ rounds each summer when I was competing and training regularly. Beautiful kimber custom classic II with a lot of work on it is a safe queen as is my expensive H&K. The car analogy sucks because for the cost difference, I'd expect to see the difference between a Chevy Cobalt versus a Corvette. Instead, you spend more for a prettier gun that doesn't do the job any faster or more accurately than the glock.

Yes. I read the article when it was posted here. But it doesn’t negate the fact that MARSOC adopted the GLOCK 19.

Like they say, the hand gun gets me to my long gun.

Thanks for the advice. I will try one out when I can.

I have a 9mm M&P Shield with night sights. Accurate for a small CCW but not really a night stand gun. The snub nosed revolvers in my bed side table are not night sight weapons and I was thinking of something with some length to it as I will only carry it OWB or in the truck or nightstand.

Looks like they ripped off the slide and trigger from Glock and the frame/grip from the S&W M&P.

Darn near ALL of them have ripped off the locked breech and cam/lug tilting barrel from the Browning HiPower.

My nightstand/travel gun is a Beretta model 96 Brigadier Border Marshall Special. Tritium sights.

2500 rounds so far without ANY issue and I’ve only cleaned it once. It cycles everything from 135 to 180gr but likes the 155gr for accuracy.

A rare piece and a jewel. Made me a believer. .40cal through a 5.25in barrel will get anybody’s attention.
