How far left was I? So far left my beloved uncle was a card-carrying member of the Communist Party in a Communist country. When I returned to his Slovak village to buy him a mass card, the priest refused to sell me one. So far left that a self-identified terrorist proposed marriage to me. So far left I was a two-time Peace Corps volunteer and I have a degree from UC Berkeley. So far left that my Teamster mother used to tell anyone who would listen that she voted for Gus Hall, Communist Party chairman, for president. I wore a button saying “Eat the Rich.” To me it wasn’t a metaphor. I voted Republican in the last presidential election.
Reason 1: I don’t want to be killed.
My favorite part: “You went to an anti-war rally because you hated Bush, not because you loved peace. Thus, when Obama bombed, you didn’t hold any anti-war rally, because you didn’t hate Obama.”
Well, I finally glimpse their reasoning. Many thanks to the OP’s author, I learned something about the left today!
I mean, I always thought the left’s double standards were invisible to them and if asked about it, they wouldn’t have been able to fabricate a justification for their actions.

For this very reason a Christian can't be a leftist. If your life is so full of embracing the hatred that is liberalism, there is no room for Gods love in your life.
An ex-girfriend who I stay in touch with does not follow politics and HATES politics completely. She asked why I was so excited/animated today.
I told her about the wiretap on Donald Trump, by the Obama administration, before the election.
She, a complete novice and utterly naive about politics, cocked her head and said “That doesn’t sound right.”
We cannot lose.
It seems to me that the turning point, or at least the starting point for most leftists who see the proverbial light, is to discover something that they care about more than leftism.
Leftism, like Islam, demands total and utter obedience and conformity. If you ever care about anything more than the leftist cause de jour, you are abruptly scum.

Sort of rambling and not the best of examples, but overall she does a good job of generally describing they hate, hypocrisy, and uselessness of leftists, and how most of them are Marxists.
It is obvious she only abandoned being a leftist after being afflicted with a crippling disease that she doesn’t identify. Point being, it took a massive level of trauma, possibly being short for this world, for her to embrace God and question her harmful liberalism.
Well, it can’t be a bad thing for ex-commies to wake up one at a time. I wish more of them would wake up en-masse to the hateful uselessness and hypocrisy of their progressive faith.
But that is just it. Mere reading a piece like this would do NOTHING to change a progressive Marxist liberal. They would simply go into denial and make an excuse for every point she listed.
The liberal mind has to be ready to embrace change and has to be ready to move on from progressivism, before truth and reality can penetrate the mental shield they put up to prevent learning anything counter to their pre-conceived beliefs.
Liberals run 100% on raw emotion. Unlike Conservatives, who welcome new data to analyze and use to form their opinions, marxist liberals can’t analyze real facts and data. They have to feel some raw emotion to make them change.

With that, we need to understand something.
Living on that raw emotion is like a drug. Like an addiction to something. It constantly asks to be satiated. It's always seeking more. More, not JUST in the continuing flow, but more in volume of emotion.
As I sit here and type this, I can't help but think of the Star Wars movies. Though they are fiction, the idea of the dark side of the force, is perfectly captured, when the Emperor coaxes Luke to let his anger flow. That by allowing his hate to surge, he will grow stronger. It is also Lukes hate that the Emperor feeds his own hate off of.
Think of any leftist protest. The numbers of people. The chanting. The preaching of a hysterical message. All whipping the people into a frenzy. Think of Ashley Judd, Madonna, Scarlet Johanson, at the womens march last month in DC.
Let’s compare the leftists to what the Bible exhorts:
