President Trump exploded on Twitter early Saturday morning, blasting former President Barack Obama for allegedly wire tapping his phones before the election.
“Terrible! Just found out that Obama had my ‘wires tapped’ in Trump Tower just before the victory. Nothing found. This is McCarthyism!” he declared.
“Is it legal for a sitting President to be ‘wire tapping’ a race for president prior to an election? Turned down by court earlier. A NEW LOW!” he added.
Trump has the authority to declassify almost any classified material, and could substantiate his accusations if he wanted to.
The Saturday-morning Twitter storm was striking as Trump and Obama had largely appeared to paper over their differences — at least publicly — since the election.

It was approved by a later court in October. It was turned down earlier as the tweet indicates.

Neither did I. I love his Twitter strategy when it comes to politics ... but when he posts misspelled words and/or messages about some jackass in the entertainment business who I never heard of, then he comes across like -- well, a jackass in the entertainment business.
And I also stated on this thread I’d bet that Obama started his wiretaps before he even got any court order. Obama is that crooked.

I think Obama and his entire team around him (Lynch included) all gauged Trump as minor-league and would never figure out all the things they’d done.
At this point, the Senate will have no choice but to have hearings about this and drag Lynch into the middle of this. Chris Christie might get the call to be a special prosecutor. They could shuffle the IRS business and the Uranium sale in 2010 all into this package for investigation.
