When an 8-year-old from Alabama was asked to dress up as her favorite First Lady of the United States for a school project, she immediately chose the accomplished Melania Trump and didn't just pull it off, she managed to capture the precise image of the First Lady during her husband's historic inauguration. The result was a "mini-Melania" look that is sure to earn this young student a high grade for her class project, as long as her teacher holds back any negative political opinions they have and judges on merit alone.
As a call back to the days of Jackie Kennedy, Melania Trump wore a sky blue Ralph Lauren ensemble that included a cashmere cropped jacket and mock turtleneck dress, suede gloves and clutch, all in sky blue. Melania arrived at the inauguration with a gift that matched her dress, handing Michelle Obama what seemed to be a Tiffany's box as she greeted the outgoing First Lady on the steps of the White House.
The young student chose to mimic Melania's acclaimed outfit, which turned out impressively close, which included a power blue slip dress, three-quarter-sleeve wrap jacket, matching shoes, gloves, and pearl earrings. She even added a copy of the blue Tiffany's box with white ribbon, which matches the gift that Melania gave to outgoing First Lady Michelle Obama.
Melania Trump's sense of fashion isn't the only quality for young women to emulate, as she immigrated to the United States legally, began her modeling career at the age of 16, started her own line of jewelry and is fluent in 5 different languages. All qualities that make her much more than just a fashion icon, but also an intelligent and strong willed woman.
All politics aside, even critics of Donald Trump can appreciate a young girl's role model and passion in looking up to our country's First Lady for inspiration, right?
I hope Melania sees this!
What a lovely young girl!!
Very good post, I’ve made the same comment several times before.
Melania is a wonderful role model for girls and young women
What a cutie pie. The little girl is cute too.
I wonder what Chris Cuomo thinks about her?
Yes, she was our first lady and that should be respected. Aside from that, she’s an American hating, racist piece of trash that did everything within her power to bring this country to it’s knees and sow division at every turn. I will heap all the scorn I please on this low life and never lose a minutes sleep. And as a conservative I will heap scorn all those of her ilk.
Very inappropriate comment.
Yes! My first thought was that mom had serious skills in sewing that outfit. It’s beautiful and drapes perfectly.
My wife has that sewing skill. When my only daughter was 4 or 5 years old (and we lived in cold Massachusetts) she sewed two winters coats — one for my daughter, and a matching one for herself. Beautiful craftsmanship. She was so proud to have made those “pair look” coats. And together they looked fabulous.
Adorable. Good for this young lady who is not intimidated. Her choice of First Lady shows spunk. A future Norma Kamali?
Thanks PP
You never need an excuse to post pics of our lovely Melania!
My mom is just as talented. Sadly, I never learned to sew.
Genetic inheritance hasn't stopped other tall women who don't slouch or lumber about. Frankly, wookies hold themselves up better. Don't wear clothing that emphasizes your big butt and panty lines. Don't wear sandals that show off your sixth toe or whatever that thing was. And speaking of things, strap your thing down so it doesn't make people wonder about what you inherited from daddy. Bone structure has nothing to do with having a bit of class.
That’s the way to wear a belt. What a refreshing change.
Maybe Melania wore that belt in the dress to show someone how it’s done!
This is a very beautiful thing. Repeat that same moment over many more occasions and it's a fine contribution to making America great again as anyone can give. To raise a young girl to be a lady -- wow. Nothing is more important to culture than that.
Thank you, Melania. You are treating your First Lady role the way it's supposed to be done. Simple acts of kindness, dignity, intelligence, and grace are sufficient to win the hearts of We the People. In fact, we yearn for leaders and role models who reflect our values.
