She was apparently non-negotiable, and Trump wanted her to stay as Deputy NSA. The expectation is that she will serve 2 years on the NSC
& then get appointed as Ambassador somewhere, she apparently wants Greece. Harward balked at the timeline
that is what relayed to me about why trump is set on keeping mcfarland in nsc for now

Bolton would be at the bottom of my list. He and McCain are friends- they go way back and he donated $5k to his campaign. He’s got a decidedly different view than Trump on important foreign policy principles.
