The recent firing of Mike Flynn is par for the course of any new administration. When a new POTUS comes into office, he must evaluate the performance of his subordinates.
Even more difficult is the fact that POTUS must insist that their performance and integrity [whatever that might mean] meets the standards that POTUS has set for himself and his WH.
Lt.Gen. Mike Flynn has been a loyal soldier. He did what he was supposed to do in order to facilitate Trumps ascendancy into the WH. However, rumors were floating around that the National Security team in the WH was fragmented and not properly synchronized
I emphasized the need for a strong national security leader in one of my former blogs. However helpful and effective Flynn may have been in the past, he became a liability in the present and for the future of Trumps tenure.
Whether Flynn did or did not consort with the Russians or whatever other narrative is offered to the press is completely irrelevant. What does matter is that whatever POTUS decides is best for his WH becomes the sine qua non of any present or future actions that he might have to take.
The dismissal of Flynn underscores a salient point that I have repeatedly stated about all politicians, leaders, and operatives. They are dispensable.
The president has to make swift decisions in trying moments without having access to the full picture. Trump works at warp speed consistent with ruthless businessmen who are usually very successful. He may or may not allow one or two mistakes to be made.Trump will not hesitate to bring the ax down when necessary.
Please rest assured that Trump has built a very strong phalanx of operatives at the cabinet level who are effectively manning the key national security positions....

Trump screwed this up l;ike a rookie. Flynn should NEVER have been fired!! Get “SOME” Trump or these communists will eat you alive!! Bad decision.
Finally someone gets this right. Flynn screwed up and had to go. Next!
Flynn lied. see ya.
Trump is no rookie, I trust many many times more than you.
Did you read the good doctor’s blog? Do you have any idea who he is?
Trump did not fire Flynn. Flynn tendered his resignation and Trump accepted it. Obama, however, did fire Flynn.
He was ABSOLUTELY FIRED!! It was admitted by sShawn Spicer less than 7 hours ago!! FIRED! Tune in!!
Nice try Steve - and yes, I know very well who he is. Firing the National Security Advisor three weeks into the administration is not “par for the course”. The only senior government officials fired over the eight years of the Obama administration were almost 200 senior military officers, including Mike Flynn, who then went on to be fired by Trump for... talking to the Russian ambassador? Obama, on the other hand, vehemently defended every member of his administration - Clinton, Holder, Lynch, Lerner and others, despite not just questionable, but clearly illegal conduct.
According to no less than the Washington Post - not exactly an ally of Trump or Flynn - on January 23rd, the FBI reviewed Flynn’s phone conversation with Ambassador Kislyak and “found nothing illicit” in the conversation, i.e., a violation of the Logan Act, the enforcement of which fall within the jurisdiction of the FBI. Oh, by the way, there has NEVER been a prosecution of anyone under the Logan Act, much less an incoming National Security Advisor. See:

If you can provide evidence that Sean verbally uttered the word fired I would love to see it.
The following was asked, but Sean never uttered the word fired, nor did he correct the person asking the question:
1:43 p.m. After the Justice Department informed the White House about Flynn on Jan. 26, Spicer said that the president was immediately informed of the situation.
Spicer was asked why it took so long for the White House to take immediate action to fire Flynn, and he said that wouldnt have allowed for due process.
Spicer declined to comment on whether anyone has read the transcripts of Flynns calls.
Trump is very loyal, Flynn must have really screwed up.
He said trump made the decision— Not Flynn.
But you dot know do you? How did Flynn screw up next top COMEY? Be detailed.
Mike Flynn, who then went on to be fired by Trump for... talking to the Russian ambassador? >>> I think he lied to Pence when asked about his conversation with the russians.
You mean when Flynn lied to Pence?
Trump has to know he can believe what you tell him.
While it may be true that he lied, I seriously doubt it. I apologize for the length of my response, but this topic doesn’t lend itself to a bumper sticker answer.
Flynn’s reputation for the entirety of his military career is that he doesn’t lie and is often too honest and too straightforward, a trait that many Military Intelligence officers share. To illustrate, when I was a captain, my senior rater, a colonel and the S-2 of the 75th Ranger Regiment, put a comment in my OER that stated, “CPT (Name) is brutally frank and honest to a fault.” When I thanked him, he said, “I didn’t mean it as a compliment” - and he wasn’t kidding.
In staff disagreements about strategy and tactics, the commander’s decision frequently hinges on the S-2, the intelligence officer. Many commanders have uttered the phrase, “Call the ball ‘Deuce’, it’s on you.” That tendency is especially true in the 82nd, the XVIIIth Airborne Corps, SOCOM and JSOC, where Mike served for much of his career.
Although the political environment is very different from the military, intelligence officers take that attitude with them when they venture into the political realm and it’s not always appreciated. Some politicians prefer to be told the truth and decide for themselves how to convey the message. Others take the “I don’t want to know” route to maintain plausible deniability. In the latter case, we try to be tactful and more political, but balancing what you know to be true with political considerations gets very frustrating at times.
I don’t know this for certain, but I suspect that Mike Flynn gave Pence incomplete and possibly misleading information, not to intentionally mislead him, but to protect him.
It is odd to me that everyone on here that says he lied, will not cite the lie.
Not just on here, but in the media as well. When the story first broke, the terms “misled”, “gave misleading statements” and “gave incomplete information” were also used.
Hoe about Comey— “hillary committed no criminal acts” Trust that? This trust thing is bull crap. Flynn went to 50 political rallies with Trump!!! He traveled with him for months!! Can’t Trust him?? I will not buy that.
It seems that Trump can’t and that is why he is gone.
