If theres any doubt left that we live in divisive political times, know this: Some fans of Harry Potter are burning their copies of the books to protest author J.K. Rowlings views of the U.S. president. And shes fighting back on Twitter, insulting those very fans.
Thats right, one of the most beloved series of books in modern history has now become a political prop. Is nothing safe?
(TWEETS-AT-LINK)
Rowling has been vocal about her feelings concerning President Trump for some time. She has mostly used Trumps favorite platform, Twitter, to share her criticisms....

Sure, but you can’t stretch that story into three books and make a career of it, can you?
True. And it’s already like butter spread over too much bread, especially the trip from Bree to Rivendell.
So what if Frodo succumbed to the Black Rider knife shard? One of the other hobbits could’ve borne the Ring.
David Lynch makes some weird movies. Blue Velvet is one.
H.P. Lovecraft is the King of dreaming up an entire genre.
Nah, I think the eagles would have been too conspicuous. I dont see how they could have made it to Mount Doom, while Saurons power was still strong. The ring (and Sauron) needed to be destroyed first before the eagles could fly freely through Mordor. The evil forces under Sauron never would have let them get to Mount Doom alive. The Nazguls’ creatures could fly too after all. The hobbits and Gollum made it because they were small and could remain mostly hidden or disguised.
No course is without risk.
But I think an eagle strategy would’ve had a far greater a priori chance of success than what was actually followed.
The Harry Potter series was well-written. She made her money honestly, but has since spent her time trying to break out of her self-constructed prison. Her “adult” books were pathetic attempts to prove how far she could diverge from the children’s genre. For someone so brilliant, she has proven to be her own worst enemy. She’ll die a miserable misanthrope since she can’t find contentment in any situation. Poor leftists are bereft when they stare at the naked nihilism at the end of their path.
absolutely right.
we just dont buy certain books.
massive, enormous difference.
You said it well HarleyLady27. We had to endure eight years of Obama. We didn't much care for it, but we suffered through it. They are still beating up and harming people who so much as wear a Trump hat or a MAGA shirt. It's way past time for the crybaby-activist-thugs to be prosecuted and incarcerated. Assault upon others is (to the best of my knowledge) still a crime.
Liberals think that their ideology and they alone are good, moral, smart, rational. It lets them become “good” simply by joining that ideological tribe and demonize those who disagree, doubling as a useful reason to ignore anything any “unbeliever” says.
When you think you’re love and good and the opposing side are evil haters, of course you don’t want them around you. This has also led to the head of a conservative movement routinely being painted as Hitler/Stalin/Anti-Christ.
I missed where Dumbledore was a homosexual. When did that happen?
What a fool. J. K. Rowling is not an American citizen, doesn’t live here, let her take on her own government. The U.K. has its own problems that need addressing. Butt out!.
A caller on Rush's show a while ago said no successful person ever thanked the government for getting them to where they are today.
Ping!
I was thinking the same thing. It must be that the peer pressure of feeling compelled to spout the liberal dogma outweighs (in their minds) the business advantage in keeping their mouths shut.
Conservatives burn their own books.
Liberals burn other people's books.
There is a difference.
Well in her case sadly. She’s already got their money. :( But to you main point. Yes! It is mind boggling.
So she’ll never write another book? And don’t many amusement parks have “Harry Potter” themed attractions and such?
In interviews after the 7th book was released. Don’t worry, though. She already said it’ll be made canon in these movies that are coming out now (Fantastic Beasts being the start of a series).
