Can you at least say what the city is, so we don’t have to click the link to find out?
Somebody hypothesized that city and college officials who extend sanctuary to those here illegally risk humongous lawsuits when those invaders commit crimes.
Heard yesterday - Miami-Dade (not Miami)
Miami
Miami-Dade County in Florida.
I haven’t clicked, but yesterday it was announced that Miami had caved.
Miami.
Get ready for musical sanctuaries, this is going to be fun.
Cities that resist will have more problems, cities that go along will have less.
Looks like Miami. I think it had been mentioned previously that they would comply.
Obeying the law is now “caving in”.
Event cascade.
And here’s hoping more stuff happening (not just the sanctuary city/campus/whatever issue).
Like someone elses’ call,
Faster, please!
Note how they NEVER mention the toll that the mandates from Obamacare and the ever-increasing Minimum Wage does to people that work in the food industry...but then maybe because that affects only LEGAL workers.
Good news, but this may be the only Sanctuary City that has decided to cooperate, at this time.
Actually, the Hispanic immigrants and their descendants in Miami were very happy. This “sanctuary city” stuff benefits either Muslims with no credentials to immigrate or criminals worldwide.
Hispanics are not our enemy and I think Trump is the one person who can rationalize our immigration program and get us good immigrants - particularly from Latin America. Most of them will stay awhile and then go back, but others might request citizenship and stay. But the system has got to be rationalized...short term permits for harvesting or manual labor jobs, longer term ones for other fields, and definitely breaks for business developers.
A family member who is a builder told me about a Latin American (I don’t know from where) he had hired for construction who realized there was a need for nails and supplies on a building project at the end of the day. He had a beat up old car, but he went to Home Depot and bought buckets of nails and circulated through the building areas selling them for a few cents more than he had bought them...and then he started ordering wholesale and he was able to buy himself a truck and was doing quite nicely and employing people. He was legal, but not legal to do a business, and he left after Obama took away the legal quota.
They haven’t felt the financial pinch yet. I’ll bet even the California cities think twice after all that money is withheld. This Florida mayor must’ve taken pencil to paper and saw what a nightmare it was going to be.
I have no problem with legal Hispanics at all.
I even have some sympathy for non-criminal illegals who come here to work, although that practice should be stopped, and immigration for work should be tracked and regulated. The issue is that the people who hire the illegals for lower wages than an American can take are arbitraging the difference by throwing healthcare and education costs onto the taxpayer.
Alternative headline:
First 'sanctuary city' decides to comply with law, giving Trump a win.
