Gun control group Everytown for Gun Safety has begun a campaign against the Concealed Carry Reciprocity Act of 2017, claiming the bill is dangerous and urging Americans to oppose it.
According to the National Rifle Association Institute for Legislative Action, Everytown Chief Strategy Officer Brina Milikowsky issued an email through Daily Kos that condemned the national reciprocity bill, which would allow gun owners lawfully qualified to carry a concealed firearm in one state to conceal and carry in all other states as well. Milikowsky warned that the legislation would allow dangerous individualsincluding convicted criminals, domestic abusers, and stalkers to legally carry weapons in public.
Everytown also funded a petition on Daily Kos, claiming that NRA lobbyists are pushing a bill in Congress that would allow dangerous people with concealed carry permits from states with the weakest possible standards to carry concealed, loaded weapons in all 50 states.
The petition urges senators to oppose the bill and so far has been signed by over 29,000 people.
In response, the NRA-ILA was quick to point out that prohibited possessors would not be allowed to carry a concealed handgun under the new law and that all states have legal systems in place to allow qualified citizens to carry concealed firearms in public.
Since concealed carry reciprocity is already a reality in 22 states, the NRA-ILA posits reciprocity in all states would be the next logical step forward.
The NRA-ILA calls on supporters of the bill to contact their members of Congress and urge them to vote for it.
Lying liar gun grabbers never give up, do they?

Reads like an endorsement to my eyes.
Yep, that's who my state issues permits to.
“Milikowsky warned that the legislation would allow dangerous individualsincluding convicted criminals, domestic abusers, and stalkers to legally carry weapons in public.”
That Milikowsky is outright lying through her teeth really isn’t too surprising anymore, but what continues to amaze me is how ignorant and gullible the people who believe the lies are.
When it came to gay marriage, these same people didn’t give a tinker’s damn about states’ rights, but suddenly they think states’ rights trump everything.
including convicted criminals, domestic abusers, and stalkers to legally carry weapons in public.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Except that none of these people could get a concealed carry permit and are prohibited from buying guns.
Im ready, pistols are loaded
Of course, even if reciprocal carry becomes law, there will be jurisdictions that refuse to accept it. They will try to legally crush anyone unfortunate enough to have the “audacity” to want to exercise their rights.
It’ll be law, but in effect, it will be financially ruinous if you try to carry in places like NYC.
Sucks to be them.
Guess the “shall issue” states are the ones these scumbags would qualify as “weakest standards”...
Pass it ASAP.Every town can go to hell.
Somethings never change. The sun rises in the east and sets in the west. And gungrabbing leftscum always lie.
Probably not. The nature of concealed carry makes it very difficult to know who is carrying.
We’ve had several cases in VA in years past where folks who were carrying openly were arrested. Perfectly legal to OC in VA. The going settlement for a false arrest in VA is about $10K. So, the cities in question might not like the law, but they’ll be scratching checks for any bad arrests.
Oh and since this’ll be a Fed statute, the arrestee will likely be able to take it directly to Federal court.
THIS SHOULD BE A KEY PASS IN 100 DAY LEGISLATION. This and the wall and deporting EVERY illegal alien in the US. I want my 2nd amendment rights to be valid in California, just 5 miles from my house.
This HAS to be expected. If the shoe was on the other foot, the game would proceed thusly.
I presume they are against nationwide gay marriage rights then too.
The hypocrites pick and choose which state’s rights issues they agree with.
I do not CCW but I support it and feel safer shopping among the good folks openly wearing a firearm for their safety as well as mine.
